You're going to hit commute traffic on the way to Sante, not the way home. Earlier is better, they open at 3 on Thurs and noon on Friday. Noon on Friday is probably my favorite time to be there, but that's usually also helped by the fact that I'm "working" remotely then.
East Coast IPAs are getting better, but they still rarely match up to even the average stuff out here. We generally aren't great at Porters and non-BA stouts, but IPAs and as of recently fruited tart saisons are right in the wheelhouse.

I guess a matter of preference, I still prefer east coast styles to the west coast...however I won't turn either down!

This might be a stupid question...but you are going to Cellarmaker right? And imho SARA is worth it, very relaxing brewery visit and world class beers.

I've been to Cellarmaker and only really have time to visit 1 brewery since I am making a trip to TRB to pick up my bottles. Since I've been I wanted to get to somewhere new.

Genuinely curious what this means. What styles are native to the east coast other than the relatively new phenomenon of "east coast" IPA? As recently as five years ago, the only well-respected IPA/DIPAs from the east coast were Heady or came from Hill Farmstead.

It's worth the trip. And this is coming from someone who is underwhelmed by several Sante Adairius beers. You'll be glad you went, bottles or no bottles.

I prefer yeasty hop bombs that look like milkshakes that people love to hate on. Even Cellarmaker caught on to the craze!

I love IPAs, "east coast" or "west coast" styles. Heady was my first love, as it was for a lot of people, and I still make quarterly trips to VT for a case. I mean I can rattle off probably 30 IPA/DIPAs I'd be happy drinking on an island for the rest of my life should I be stuck with one.

lol. I mean I guess I am a noob. Been enjoying craft for ~4 years. Enough time to establish my own preferences, at the very least.

    Thanks, I'm sure I will!

that was not really directed at you, it just always ends up with everyone has different tastes so everyone has an opinion - none of which really matters too much if you don't know what else someone likes to drink so you can relate it to their palate. So in the end the threads always start with "should i go" and end up with "this is better/worse than that", and again there are a bunch of threads I have seen on this through the years since Sante opened. Again, was not directed at anyone, just an observation, and if you do make it over ask if I am there I will be happy to show you around the place if you are interested...

edit: of course another way to find input is untappd - lots of ratings/reviews there every day

Try and get over the hill (17 as early as possible), especially Fridays. Enjoy your visit...and if you really want bottles try and set an IP trade while you are in town.
