My family and I are going to Sarasota/Siesta Key in a few weeks. Havent been since before I was 21 so wanted to know any brewery and bottle shop selections in the near by area. As always any good places to eat with a solid draft list is always appreciated too.
    Thanks and Cheers!

Can't argue with any of @jloomis 's suggestions. But I'll add a couple other considerations...

Brew Life Brewing is very near Calusa (and on the way back out to Siesta Key) and makes some solid beers if you're looking for a different place to stop. Definitely do NOT skip Calusa to hit Brew Life though.

If you drive up to Palmetto/Parrish for Corporate Ladder, Good Liquid Brewing in Bradenton would be (roughly) on the way back. I've yet to go so I don't have any personal opinion one way or the other, but I've heard some good things.

Oak and Stone has a location between I-75 and Siesta Key, and I thought they were decent. The food was fine, and they do a pour-your-own strategy with draft beers with an adequate selection. I don't have any idea if they're still doing that during the pandemic.

Also - Strawberry Rhubarb pie at Yoder's. That has nothing to do with beer. But I view it as a necessity if you're in to that kind of thing.

I'll throw in votes for Calusa and CL. Looking forward to getting back to Calusa in a few weeks. Their ability to brew great beers across many many styles is incredible.

I'll also throw in a vote for Yoder's.....peanut butter cream pie is divine.

I will be in Siesta Key next week. Really hoping to make it to Calusa as I couldn’t the last time I was there.

any suggestions for current release or Florida beers to look for at Total Wine or other shops in the area? Thanks

I stopped at the total wine at 75 and university on Friday. And the ABC down the road as well. Based on my findings, your hard earned cash money is better spent on Calusa cans. Any of them.

This is very true. Good, fresh, and kept cold since day #1. I drive 150 miles round trip for their brews.
