I think I speak for everyone not in BC when I say: ISO.

Though I'll be in Vancouver this Thursday. Will it last?

Might be some at some shops, but you would need to look around. I know Brewery Creek and 16th sold out yesterday. The other shops in or around downtown that received shipments yesterday were Viti, Firefly and Legacy (plus a couple more I can't think of right now) and would expect that supplies are low.

Understand that the shops in the suburbs will be getting their stock Wed/Thur so you may be in luck if in those regions. Suggest following this twitter feed for updates.

Hit me up with a PM if you can't find any - I could probably part with 1 bottle.

Brewery Creek sold out first as they spilled the beans via social media. Legacy sold out quickly after.

Value On still had decent stock when I was there at 6pm.

PS: I posted on me' blog about the stuff already. So very good. Drinking the last few sips of the first bottle currently. www.beerscout.ca

Lame. And besides, it's not sold out at all stores, just the popular Vancouver ones.

I honestly don't understand some people. When great beers come out and are limited releases I always make sure to stock up on it but not because I keep it all to myself or sell it at a high mark up but for the simple fact that good beer is meant to be shared with others. I end up giving 3/4 of it away to friends and family or offer it up in trades. I recently got 4 Heady Topper's and 4 Pliny's and I only had one of each and the others already have a home.

This was my first experience with the beer and I found it to be pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure they use the same base recipe as Fat Tug, since besides the initial floral hop kick, the body was fairly similar. Still, that hop profile is absolutely gorgeous. I've read some people didn't like it as much as earlier incarnations of it (on the Barley Mowat blog), but eh. Seeing as I was never available for the one day a week it got released and subsequently sold out, this marks my first experience with the beer. And so, I turn to you, the more experienced Sartori connoisseurs: how does it compare the previous versions, in your opinion?

I've heard pretty much the same arguments for last year's version of the beer, saying it's nowhere near as good as the year before it, etc.

Didn't you know that every annually released beer ever made gets worse every year according to beer geeks? I wish my memory of taste was that precise. I swear that beers from the same six pack taste a little better or worse to me depending on the day, my mood, what I'm eating, etc.

Back to your question though, the two bottles I've had have this year have been just as awesome as the last two years ...in my memory anyways.

Does anyone know how many cases were released this year (and past years)?

I don't know, but recall hearing that they were either
    • Producing twice as many cases as last year
    • Using twice as many hops
    • All of the above
    • None of the above
There you have it. You're welcome  Er, anyone else know anything?

Ended up getting to Vancouver way earlier than I thought so we went over to Brewery Creek to get a bottle of Iris. Walked out with 4 Sartori instead. No idea how I'll be able to haul all this PNW beer back.

I really hope you get a bottle...Fingers crossed. I stopped by the Big Ridge LRS in Surrey at 6pm and didn't initially find the beer. Thought, "oh well" and grabbed a Naughty Hildegarde and a Hoyne Wolf Vine (fresh hopped APA) to drown my sorrows in conciliation. When I got to the cash register, the cashier asked if I wanted a Sartori. I said, "yuh huh!" and she went to the back to grab one. Reasonably priced, but completely unexpected. She mentioned they received 8 cases at 1pm, and had 5 bottles left by 6pm. Incredible.

TLDR - Ask the cashier before you give up.

    Happy hunting!

BTW, anyone maxing their bottle limit, please try to refrain from purchasing 4-6 bottles of a very limited release beer at a time. For one, it limits the number of people who can try this locally sourced goodness, and for another, it's a fresh hopped IPA that should be drunk ASAP. Give everyone a chance and try to avoid the temptation to hoard - I know it's not easy.

Psttt... send her to Brewery Creek. They got a second shipment the day after, and just didn't post anything about it. I was there a couple hours ago & their shelves are stocked, plenty to go around!
