Coming down to visit the Boston-area tasting rooms on Saturday, planning to start at Trillium just after lunch. Looking for recommendations on places to get lunch nearby...doesn't need to be a full-blown bar and restaurant (there will be plenty of beer to come later), a sandwich place is fine. First few I found are all Mon-Fri places for the lunch break crowd, and Row 34 doesn't do weekend lunch.

    Ideas?

Flour cafe is on point. Lamb or chicken sandwich. If a breakfast sandwich is your thing, their egg sandwich might change your life.

Lucky's Lounge is a cool, unmarked bar/restaurant very close to Trillium. Food is good, but basic beer list (BMC mostly). For a better beer list (but a longer walk), check out Atlantic Beer Garden by the Seaport. Very good food, better beer.

Have fun! Trillium is a blast. Well worth the trip.

Trillium is amazing have fun. If uve got a car u should check out night shift and Idle Hands as well they're in the same building only a 10 min drive away in Everett. As for lunch, check if Tavern road is open. It's only a block or two to the right of Trillium. Blue dragon isn't far either and both have unbelievable food although you'll likely find a better beer list at Tavern road. Enjoy

I have ironically found the beer list to be much better at Whiskey Priest than it is at Atlantic Beer Garden. Remy's has a good list too.

Blue Dragon is right around the corner if you want some good tapas-style asian food. Remy's is pretty close and has good bar food

I'll add my vote for Blue Dragon (but the lunch menu is not tapas-style; it's mainly entrees. Dinner is tapas style.). It's usually pretty quiet on Saturdays and the food is solid. The lunch portions are large there, so consider splitting an entree -- especially if you get a noodle bowl. Beer list is small, but they usually have at least one interesting draft line. (They sometimes have Trillium on draft, but that's been rare in my experience.)

Also in the area: Sportello, which serves some amazing pastas (and similar Italian dishes). It's more high-end than a "sandwich place," but the food is awesome. Check out the menu online to see if it interests you (and note that they serve cheaper appetizer portions of all their entrees). It's usually pretty dead in there for a weekend lunch. They do serve beer/wine, but beer selection is small.

If you're driving or you're up for a 10-minute walk, check out K&O Pies in Southie. No beer at this location, but the meat pies and sausage rolls are effing awesome.

As others have noted, you also can't go wrong with Bee's Knees or Flour Bakery (but it can get crowded there). No beer served at either location (although Bee's Knees does offer a decent beer selection for retail sale).

Thanks for the recommendations everyone, and yes, Night Shift / Idle hands are on the agenda too (return visit), and Mystic. Before I moved to Maine, I worked in the building right across Williams St from Mystic's location. Small world.

ONe detail you might want to watch out for, there is a home show at the Seaport World Trade Center, and a boat show at the convention center this weekend. Things may be a touch crowded down there, at least for eats. Can't say how many of those types may be going for Trillium, though.

It all worked out well: went to Flour for lunch, which was packed with Children's Museum families, but had good food and ate outside enjoying the people-watching. Watched a lady attempt to make a u-turn in the street outside Flour and hit a parked commercial van - twice - in the process. Did sample flights at Trillium, then over to Mystic, then Idle Hands and Night Shift. Picked up a few bottles along the way. Then dinner at WHYM in Portsmouth on the way home (they're old friends of ours), a stop at Novare for another friend's birthday, and...done.
