dual hint - I have witnessed both of my targets perform the sacred ritual of the ninja box not necessarily with me being the target

On which clue? Ernie Davis won the Heisman at Syracuse in 1961. I haven't checked the Badgers schedule for the past 20 years, though, so I can't confirm that one.
