Damn! So sorry it didn't make it. I know it wasn't a sturdy glass but hoped the styro tube would make up for that.

I vaguely remember the days when I had to be sober during the week. Actually was probably a good thing.

I trust the school year is going ok but my guess it is a real challenge everyday.

Awesome! As soon as I’m sober, I’ll match this with my own 25.

I know of what you speak. Many generous folks on this BIF. Got some boxes and my initial reaction was holy f**k! Got one of them today as a matter of. I am still recovering from the unpacking experience.

Damn, seeing all the beer boxes going all over the place, you may never be sober again.

That said, it is a good cause. I still do not understand why the govt will not take care of them, meet their needs.

If you ever find your sorry ass in Richmond, let me know. Be my honor to bend elbows with you at some of Richmond's awesome breweries.

I decided to crack open the Wild Card from @Oconomowocian this evening while cooking fish tacos and listening to Tom Petty.

Look is reddish brown with no perceptible head. Smells like cherries heaped upon cherries. Taste is the same but with a bit of added tartness. I know it is a New Glarus beer from the cap. A quick UT search narrows it down to Wisconsin Belgian Red or Serendipity. Based on the bottle color my guess is Serendipity.

And for the first time I’m correct, albeit with a bit of a hint. This beer is incredible. So much so that I wasn’t able to finish it since my wife stole the last third. Thanks so much Jay. These first few beers from you have been awesome.

It’s trick or treat night in Oconomowoc and it’s pouring. I’m guessing not too many little monsters gonna make it out tonight so I’ll try and work through this beast from @bl00 .
    The cans...

    From the upper left
Collision tapworks- chimerical dreams IPA (killer artwork)
Union craft- older pro gin barrel aged gose (right up my alley)
Peabody Heights - Lost Generation stout with coconut and caramel (the wife has been reading Hemingway... this one will probably be gobbled up just like the cookies)
South County (I have loved what I’ve had from them before, all thanks to Dan...)
Sound Machine extra pale, cosmic nod interstellar pale, dark thread chocolate oat porter, festifall marzen (I need to ask @TheGent how to get umlauts), peach automatic fantastic kettle sour, stellar phase pale, & 851 Helles. Dan I’m psyched for all of these!!!
Hermit Thrush - gin barrel Saison (more gin barrel aged canned beer. This sounds killer)
    Mystery beer 1 & 2
More monsters at the door. So shitty out I’m letting them grab however much they can in a handful. Gonna crack mystery can #1 and then I’ll hit the bottles, swag and food.
    Thank you so much Dan!!!!

Got into my mystery beer from @Bum4ever . As I cracked the plain cap, I noticed there was a tiny inscription on it. deGarde. I got a half chub.

The pour is heavily carbed, and sunlight yellow. I’m assuming lots of funk. First sip reveals that the funk I thought that would be so abundant is actually really subdued, but still there. Nose almost reminded me of a spoiled Budweiser, haha! Taste is lemon rind all the way. Maybe a bit of lemongrass too. Lager yeast, not ale. Slightly tart. As this opens up I get a lot more oak than when I first dove in. Maybe oak barrels or a foudre, but definitely some wood in there. Slightly vinous, maybe Chardonnay barrels? What started as a fairly simple beer got a lot more complex along the way. I’m rethinking the whole lager yeast thing. Maybe a sour blonde ale with lemongrass aged in white wine barrels. Yep, that’s my final answer.
