Well, I feel like this beer is mocking me now...

I can’t say I really got anywhere close to getting this one right. I guess you could say it was a big F.A.I.L.

Formerly An Interesting Lager that is. Still a tough one to guess. Thanks for this one @Bum4ever ! Go Irish!

Not WBAYDN thread but I cannot help myself. Three of the four beers (bless @CanConPhilly for the language) were from folks on this thread. None from Virginia. I am thinking there is a conspiracy. Inundate his sorry ass with beer and maybe he will not drink Virginia beer. So far it is working my friends.

Have a great rest of your weekend. Pray for my Redskins. They need all the help they can get.

I got to try this one on tap a few weeks back. I think I would have like if more if I hadn’t been six beers in already because the complexity was totally lost on me. Great choice for a blind beer.

Raining so hard I’m letting the little monsters grab handfuls of candy. When they come back for seconds I high five them because is miserable and I’ll just eat the candy and I’ve been eating candy all week and I need it out the house right now. Anyway..

Time for blind beer #1 from @bl00

Poured yellow, just a little cloudy with a big ol head, good lacing too
Smells like white grapes, maybe a little funk
Taste is sweet, a little blueberry in there somewhere. I usually despise blueberry beers tho. Must be grapes or some other fruit cause this is not too bad. Finishes dry, a little acidic.
I’m going to guess white grape and blueberry Saison. But this is my first ever blind beer review so who knows what the fuck it is. Reveal to follow

Paging @TheGent . How do u add umlauts to your iPhone keyboard? Fuck it, here we go:
So the reveal of the @bl00 blind beer #1

It’s Einstock (umlaut on the o) Icelandic arctic berry ale. Wit with bilberries hand picked near the arctic circle to be exact. I will google bilberries later, this was really a fun and good blind beer Dan. Especially for a packer fan, had you not covered up the Viking logo I’m sure I would not have enjoyed it as much as I did. Cheers Dan!

    Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards

Then just add the German one which should have everything you need.

You’ll see a globe like the one I circled in the picture below. Click that to change between keyboards.

Thanks Anthony. My grandma Hirschel thanks you too. She was so German she would put umlauts over consonants

Mystery Beer from with @Oconomowocian with instructions that say “Chill Me.”

Look: The beer pours a pale to medium amber color. It is translucent and a little cloudy. A huge, bone white head disappears faster than it form. A lot of carbonation steaming up from the bottom.

Smell: OK. This beer smells like it’s chock full of hot habanero peppers. Oily, earth and vegetal pepper notes. There is some sweet fruityness but it’s hard to get much else beyond the peppers. A little bready. No discernible alcohol. Damn, Jay, a bold blind beer. Might need to punish you for this depending on the actual level of heat.

Taste: Upon tasting the beer I am putting my money on the fact that it is a chili beer. However, the heat is subtle, and much less than I expected based on the prominent pepper aroma. The heat lingers a bit in the back of my throat, but not so much on my palate. It finishes with a crackery dryness that makes me think lager or an ale with wheat. There’s some other flavor that I keep wanting to call “fruity” but I can’t really pinpoint it. Almost melon or grape like. No discernible alcohol.

Feel: A thin bodied beer. With an effervescent mouthfeel. As mentioned above, the heat is subtle, but certainly there.

Overall: I’m finding it difficult to determine the style beyond chili beer. I don’t think it’s an IPA. It could be a very clean pale ale. Or simply a lager. Ok, I’m going lager with habanero. Somewhere in the 5% - 6% range.

Spoiler- you won’t need the Deutsche keyboard for this one

Shit! I got the style right but the pepper wrong! And the ABV is 4.7%. Nice mystery beer @Oconomowocian !

One of the better chili beers I’ve had. The subtle heat allowed the crisp lager profile to come through.

It even has Jays handle at the top of the can. Or most of it at least.

I go watch a football game and get home to see there’s 4 pages to catch up on. Nice work fellas. I brought my 4 yr old to the game since my wife and oldest daughter we’re going to a concert. She had a good time.

They did a flyover before the game, and I immediately thought of you chuckle heads. It was a plane with a dick (refueling plane).

I was in a pissy mood when I got home because Iowa State lost and played like shit but @jhavs came to the rescue!!

Jon - holy crap man. I’m tickled to death about these beers. Nailed some wants and some that should be wants. Now to the damage:

Hill Farmstead - Double Galaxy. My first Hill Farmstead IPA! Super excited for this. Chilling in the fridge now.
Funky Buddha - Last Snow. I really like this beer, a lot. Can’t wait to have this years version.
Hill Farmstead - Flora Plum!!!! Fuck yeah.
River Roost - Rhythm of the Night. Bourbon and rye barrels plus coffee - I’m drooling.
    Tree House - Triple Shot!!!!!!
Lift Bridge - Silhouette. Been wanting to try this for awhile.

Jon - thank you. This is a great box and I’m extremely appreciative of the beers you sent.

That’s probably the best beer my hometown brewery makes, it really not my thing but I figured I would throw it in. Thought it would be a fun blind beer. You did one hell of a review Anthony. Nailed it as far as I’m concerned. Enjoy the rest of the box!
