First, this distributor has alwas had one of if not the best selection in the WPA area. Second, they have routinely given to charities in WPA. Third, they have the most impartial way of handling the rare cases Lastly, if you were the d-bag that ruined this for all of us FU and FU again! Going to Save-Mor tomorrow to stock up and support this ditributor.
I shopped at this place a lot when I lived in Pittsburgh. What happened? Couldn't find any news on this...
I'm thoroughly confused, and I just opened my first beer. Perhaps some additional detail would be helpful.
They tried to raffle off a case of BCBS and donate proceeds to charity but someone turned them into PLCB.
So based only on the information to be found on this site, this thread, and the web: It seems that Save Mor has more than once held a raffle (which may be illegal in PA, depending on who is doing it and how it is done) and they have given or planned on giving Alcohol as a prize (which is definitely illegal in PA). They and their supporters have publicly advertised that they were doing this. Now they've been busted by the State Police law enforcement group charged with enforcing the laws put in place by the PA legislature. Rather than someone who might read the OP on BA, I'd suggest two other possibilities for who might have reported them. First, rather than some individual, it might have been one of the other beer distributors in the area who wasn't happy with someone engaging in illegal actions to gain unfair advantage in the market place. Second, it might well have been someone monitoring social media (and places like this site) who reported them or took action because it was part of his/her job to do so. While Save Mor have my sympathy for their difficulties and they are to be applauded for their quality offerings and donations to charity, a bit of checking could have saved them a good bit of hassle and pain.
