Saving bottle caps

    I have a half liter Hofbrauhaus mug in the garage, right by my beer fridge...I put all of my bottle caps in it until it's full, then I dump them...I don't know why I do this but I've been doing this for years. I talked to a guy a Saturday that saves his, he was to make some type of art project with his...Anybody else save theirs?

    I save mine too, last year I went to a a beer festival at a ball park and there were different people selling all types of interesting things made from beer bottles, labels, caps etc and I seen they were making magnets out of the beer caps and I've always saved mine so I can do something awesome with them.

    I have loads of bottle caps mostly from the UK but also a few from the world over

    NOW WHAT THE F()£K do I do with them?

    I've said it several times - I consider the Fallout scenario as a possible reality. I'll be the richest bastard in Megaton with all the caps I've saved!!

    BUT seriously, I keep them for yet to be determined project(s). Or for currency. Just saying.

    I was thinking of putting them on a table and put epoxy resin and put beer labels too

    Unique beer caps have small magnets stuck inside and put on the front of the beer fridge.

    Repeat caps as well as corks get put inside the shadow box!

    You know there is going to be a movie at some point where there is a post apocalyptic world where beer caps are the currency.

    And yes I keep mine as well. Keep them in a vintage 5 gallon glass pickle jar in the kitchen.

    I like to glue round magnets to the back of them and keep the caps on my beer fridge. My buddy pounds them flat and makes letters out of them to hang on the wall.

    Been saving mine for an art project for about 4 years, haven't started or planed it yet. This is my only negative on cans.

    Take a peek in the Brewerania forum and you'll see various threads about collecting caps and what some collectors do with them. Mine are becoming magnets on my man cave ceiling's heat duct. Around 4,000 of them so far.

    I've seen a shadow box for ticket stubs kind of like the beer one. Where'd you get it. I like the graphic on the glass and although i could prob make it up myself, sometimes it is easier to just let someone else do it...

    I saved a large cereal tupperware worth of them. My first year or two of beer is in that container. Definitely worth keeping. Cheers.
