Perhaps it's time to find a project for my caps. I nearly have a full case of them.

If you try posting a question in your regional forum asking which breweries use a cap that has graphics you might get a better response than asking in the Brewerania forum. Otherwise, you'll have to use 9 each of the 10 breweries that you mentioned, plus one more to reach 100.

I've been collecting caps for years; my main goal is as many unique caps as possible. Currently up to 577; and that's still buying whatever beer I want and not just going for the caps. Original goal was to make a bar top, stick them in, then put a finish over the top. I have a slab of wood for it, but I'm rethinking that idea into making more of a display piece than an actual bar top.

Man I'd like to dive to the bottom of that box and see what all is in there. A box full of caps to a collector is what a crate full of records is to a vinyl junkie!

Don't know if you're going for strictly micros...but you could always add the Latrobe/Rolling Rock caps and Straub

I might be wrong about these being PA caps but:
Lancaster Brewing, Pittsburgh Brewing, Henry Ortlieb’s, Red Bell, Reading, Barley Creek, Sly Fox, Eureka, Iron City, plenty of caps were brewed under the Lion Brewery (Gravity Brewing, Gibbons, Stegmaier, etc)

Between the several varieties of the brewers that you mentioned you should have no trouble getting close to 100. We'll be glad to help.

Is the Sly Fox cap real? Other than one old picture I came across in a Google search once, I've never known it to actually exist.

Yep. I've got one. One of my favorite caps, but it is pretty rare.

Nice job! That's exactly what I'm thinking of doing with my bottle cap collection. How many would you estimate it took to do that?

yeesh, I'm not sure. I ended up having more than I needed though. 300? Just line the length and width w/ bottle caps and multiply to get a good guess.

Embrace your brewing heritage and collect 'em all! There's a guy who only collects Pennsylvania "Keystone" cork-back caps who's collection was shown in "Crowncapper's Exchange" magazine a little while back...pretty cool caps!
I found four extra caps from Pennsylvania if'n you want 'em: Penn Dark (1990s?), Neuweiler, JJ Wainright's (early 2000s?) and Susquehanna (recent). If you decide you want to stray from your intended path, let me know and they're yours!

I appreciate it--4-6 week lead time to make it so I've got some time to think about what I'm going to do.

I made a cap table last year and was thinking of doing the epoxy resin top. However, I was worried that after building the table and collecting the caps that I might mix the resin incorrectly and ruin it so I decided to go with a plexiglass top and it looks great. Also I remember speaking with an old college buddy of mine when I was building it and he mentioned how he had made a cap table back in college and used the resin surface but after a couple years the resin started to get "foggy" and it was hard to see the caps. Maybe that has something to do with the paint on the caps or the glue used to hold them in place having some sort of reaction with the resin? I'm not sure, I just thought I might share that tip with you about cap table construction.

Ive seen a lot of articles that heavily recommend some brands over others because of the yellowing. Also seen where exposure to sunlight will fog it up or yellow it. It'll end up looking like a bartop from a 1970's Panama City seafood house if you let it get that way. I intended to do the same thing with epoxy but once I started collecting, I was worried about how I would add to the Bigfoots every year and others that change all the time. Once they're in, they're in with that stuff.

Keep the good ideas coming. I just found a Ziploc bag full of caps I collected about 10 yrs ago. There are a few brews that are no longer made and some that the design has simply changed over the years.
