Lets say their's an empty bottle you want to save because it was either a rare/hard to find beer or a seasonal that might not be brewed again. The only problem is that the label is slighty damaged and its not in perfect or mint condition. Do you still save it anyway or do you chuck it if its slighty damaged and not perfect?

I would try to buy another one - if that's impossible I would keep it.

I save a lot of the more rare bottles, and if I have multiples I get the label off of one that I store for memories of all the hazy nights ;D

my beer bottle collection is nearing 800....soo...yeah, some people like to save their empties. as far as a 'whale' is considered, i will save the bottle regardless of the condition the label is in because...well, when the hell am i ever going to get another bottle of said 'whale'

If that's what you do/like then by all means save that bottle regardless of the label

Only bottle I ever kept was an original Cat's Piss by Evil Twin. They had to change the label to Katz Pizz for later releases. It makes for a very interesting conversation piece especially for the unwashed masses of non craft drinking friends.

I have close to 700 bottles that will be put on shelves of all four walls of the man cave when its complete. I think it will add a touch of the WOW factor when I have friends over.

I save labels, i keep the bottles till i have 10 or so then i soak them and let them dry and then soak them again usually comes right off but some dont and i dont frett i have hundreds of lables fit nicely in a photo album with a print out of my rating next to it if i rated it kind of fun and i keep them in alphabetical order that way if someone is like hey what do you think about this beer i can be like what hold on a sec and look it up plus one day i plan on making a table top or collage or something with them, this does not apply to etched or painted bottles though i keep some toss others, i collect cans and growlers too.

I save all the empty bottles of good beer I drank. It's a hobby, nothing wrong with it. It's like a cooler version of a stamp collection.

If I save a bottle that I know will be difficult to replace and the label is damaged, I use a dab or two of glue from a low-temp hot glue gun and smooth it out as best as I can.
