    This sounds expensive.

It is, but we (I take my father as a father's day gift) always have a good time at it. The events the week before are amazing around the area too. If you have the money I'd say go at least once if you haven't.

This looks amazing, might be worth the price.

Skipped last year because of being in ny. Went the previous two years in dc. Can't wait, one of my favorite beer events.

FYI, noticed in the fine print, tickets will only be 2 per purchase instead if 4 like in years previous

I went in 2011 and had fun, but probably wouldn't do it again. It just wasn't worth the cost, in my opinion. Save your money for the amazing events around town during Savor week instead.

    Firestone Walker Invitational: $80
Great Taste of the Midwest: $50
    Bruery Initiation Party: $50
    Savor: $135

One of these is not like the other.

    Seriously, though, why the markup?

So what is "formal" about the atmosphere? And why is it a good thing? Never been, and won't at that price, but just curious.

Do they also misspell hors d'oeuvres like you did? So they make you go through the effort of dressing up and then charge you extra? SWEET! I don't think that would fly in Baltimore. Or Cleveland. Or Portland. Or just about anywhere outside of DC, NYC, or LA.

Drink yourself a $30 sour and you'll feel better.

Admittedly, I don't spell that word that often. When I want to use it, I first use the google. I guess my blue collar roots are showing, Savor definitely doesn't sound like my scene...I would never spend $150 on a meal for one person.

I definitely see your point - but of course it would cost me a LOT more to get to any of those than it does to go to Savor. I will say that one of my favorite parts of Savor is that it wasn't too crowded (not that there weren't a lot of people, but I barely had to wait to try anything). The food is really good, the beer is great (got my first taste of KBS there!) and really had a great time.

Could it be cheaper? Sure - but given that it's the option for this area, I'll probably check it out again this year.

Ah ok, fair enough. The food and the lack of crowds are both nice features which probably justify some of the price. (Snallygaster was decent enough before the unwashed masses came in at 1 or whatever time.) I'm guessing the lack of competition (yey competition) is a big part of it. Not saying that I won't attend, I just like to feign outrage as I pull out my wallet and buy tickets.

Yeah, I waited... 3 people (?) to get KBS in 2012. Not complaining about that. I ate like a pig, too... there were mini-lobster rolls!

Also, ever brewery is required to have either pres of company or head brewer actually at the table pouring. No volunteers. So if you are into and follow the industry, getting to talk face to face with the actual heads of these companies in one place is pretty amazing

THAT WON'T FLY! Except in the three cities I listed. And Savor is in one of those cities. And it'll sell out in minutes. Not computing the point of your post.

That being said, I do believe it is too expensive. Hoping to get a ticket through work. Bought one in 2011 and it was a ton of fun. Worth doing once (or for free). The best thing about Savor are the events at bars the entire week.
