It's nice that you guys went or didn't go, and that you have a hangover, but I'd rather hear specifically what were the beer highlights of Wicked Weed night? Were the sours world class? How did the IPA's stack up against the Heady's and Hill Farmsteads and Pliny's of the world? Tell me what I missed!

The sours were definitely legit. Thought the Red Angel was best in show for me. The IPAs were all solid for sure but I wouldnt put them in Heady class, think I still may prefer some fresh double duckpin or wings.

I agree with @earlholman. The freak of nature I had a sip of was awesome and the menage a freak aroma was stellar. The french toast stout mouth feel was very light. A dark horse for me was the Saison XL. The golden angel was much smoother compared to the red, but the red angel was probably my favorite of the night

Didn't make it to the Churchkey event last night, but hit up the brewery this spring & Freak of Nature was a standout for sure. Up there with the best IPAs i've had. Ridiculously good hop aroma & huge citrus and tropical fruit flavor. Way too easy to drink for an 8% beer--I finished a 64oz growler alarmingly fast & definitely regretted it the next day.

Did anyone try the imperial cucumber? I'm not a sour fan so when I was there last summer only enjoyed a couple beers they had but the imperial cucumber was pretty outstanding. So light and refreshing for such a high abv.

Has anyone been to Brookland Pint yet today? Thinking of swinging by after work, but I can't imagine the Vanilla Rye will last too long if it's been on since 11AM.

the sours were great. not extremely vinegary or sweet, but not watery or dull either. lots of flavor and great balance. The IPAs were good, but didn't blow me away. The stouts were solid, but nothing close to BCBS levels. The Dark Age was a little boozy, but not too bad. My favorite was the imperial coolcumber, which reminded me of a gin & tonic or 7 & 7. Not many beers out there that are gin barrel aged and that worked incredibly well with the cucumber.

Wicked Weed's sours are really nuanced. They're still sour, but it's dialed back enough that the barrel & whatever adjuncts they add come through. Genesis is so wine barrel- and fruit-forward that you could potentially mistake it for a white wine.

I didn't make it to the event last night but I've had about 6-7 of Wicked Weed's sours and they range from very good to amazing. The hoppy sours (Capricious and Amorous) are some of my favorite beers I've ever had.

I really enjoyed the Angel series sours of Wicked Weed. The Black Angel was the favorite.
I was also impressed with thier Dark Age Bourbon Stout. Would be interested in doing a side by side with bcbs. It was amazing and hope they do variants based off this base stout.

Also, anyone know if CBS kicked yet

CBS kicked just before 5pm. It wasn't too crazy, everyone in line definitely got a pour. Dark Star Coffee was fantastic.

IMO the dark star coffee was very underwhelming.
