When I went in DC in 2011 while there were some definite BA's there, a lot of people were actually just there because of the food, because it was a nice event in DC, and because they saw it as a fancy beerfest.

It was a pretty interesting mix and made it interesting to see where lines formed. There was no line for Abyss, Sexual Chocolate, or Upland Raspberry Lambic, but the lines for beers you can get pretty easily were crazy because people knew of the beers and breweries. That and Sam was there and they were filming his show, so the DFH booth was crazy all night. I'd imagine you get a good mix of BA's and people going for the food/a nice fun event.

I went to SAVOR 2010 and it was $99 and they mailed you a ticket. It was a GREAT time. So much so, more of my family went in 2011, and ticket price was $109 or $119 and they mailed you tickets. This was a GREAT time as well. The following year, 2012, they went to TicketMaster and the ticket was ~$130. We did go to DC, but didn't go to SAVOR and spent the time going to all the good bars and events outside of SAVOR and had a REALLY GREAT time. We went to the brewer's brunch at Birch and Barley which was awesome. We just couldn't justify the cost increase and who wants to give money to ticketmaster.

We were going to do the same thing for SAVOR this year since my family is close to NYC. We were going take the train into the city and do all the events and tap takeovers but we decided to go to American Craft Beer Fest instead. Better bang for the buck and I like the brewery list better. Also it helps that I could get cheap rooms at the Seaport. Since I have to fly from NC, I would rather do Boston and festival than NYC and no festival.

I think the brewery list for SAVOR this year was kind of weak compared to previous years. While I think it's a great festivale, the price increases make it not worth going. Go for all the events outside of it.

I just imagine a lot of people here didn't want to pay the price; therefore, there was nothing to complain about yesterday ha

I got my tickets and will be going to the Crooked Stave and Bell's Salon. Very excited to go to this for the first time. Price was steep but I think its going to be a great time as my fiancee and I are both beer enthusiasts and foodies.

Definitely going to try and get tickets today. $170 in NY is cheaper than trying to go to DC and get a hotel in the future... This better be EPIC.

I went to Savor in DC in 2011 and had a blast. However, $170 is silly. If it's that much when it comes back to DC, I will be sitting on the sidelines for sure. $170 can buy a lot of good beer.

Man I really want to pop on these tickets at noon, but that $170 is really a hard one to swallow. Some of the salons sounds really great too, I wish I could just attend a few of those w/no fest! Either way, I'm looking forward to the local events surrounding the fest.

Good thing I'm catching a flight to Brussels this evening for a little business/drinking trip. I'll put my $170 to good use over there.
