"It is going to be a tough fight. We have a lot of momentum, but we are up against a very resistant and well funded machine.

If you want to help make it pass please contact the state reps and politely ask that they support the bill. SB63. Please keep it civil and polite. There is no need to flame these politicians.

I've copied several email addresses below that are the Regulated Industries committee members. Send them an email asking them to support SB63 the GA Beer Jobs bill!

In short, this will allow both breweries and brewpubs to sell up to 144oz of beer for off-site consumption, which is 2 6-packs or 2 growlers (and then some). Additionally, a brewery will be able to sell up to 72oz for on-site consumption.

Probably worth mentioning is that a brewpub will still be limited to 10,000 barrels per year. Previously, up to 5,000 barrels of that could be sold to a wholesaler. With SB63, growler and off-site sales would be part of that 5,000 barrel cap. If growler sales take off, this would logically be the next battle the brewer's guild will fight.

It is also interesting to note that the bill specifically states that breweries have to sell beer at a rate similar to that of other retail establishments.

Thank you! I'm starting at the top and working my way down the list. I hope every other member from Georgia does the same.

Hell yeah GABrew! Talked to Crawford a while about this today. Everyone please try to do as he says above and please get as many people as you can to do the same. Be as professional as you can, can't stress that enough. Just tell them how much this will help breweries and brewpubs and the State of Georgia. Tell them how you as a consumer would like to get fresher beer straight from the source as someone might go to a bakery to get bread. Come up with other good examples and put your heart into it. Thanks to everyone for sending these emails!! Let's light up some inboxes!
