I recently bought several Scaldis Noel but I don't see a bottled on date. The best by date is 12/08/2017 and has the following code H 3 33 5 below it. Typically you see about 5 years out for BB on Belgian strong Ales of this type but thought I'd ask to see if anyone knew or confirm.

I have had this beer a few times fresh and it's delicious. It is super strong and would really stand up to aging so it would be great to have a sense of how old there are as I sample bottles at intervals going forward.

    Thanks

I just scored a 4-Pack fairly cheap (~$16) and was curious myself as to their date coding. Comparing our bottle codes/dates, here is my theory:
    You:
    12/08/2017
    H 3 33 5

    Mine:
    03/09/2016
    I 3 36 4

The Best By date reads Day/Month/Year
As I interpret the string below:
    Letter = Month
First Digit = Bottling Line (only number in common with our dates)
    Second Digit = Week Number
    Third Digit = Year

    Therefore:
Your bottles were packaged between the 10th and 16th of August 2015.
Your bottles have a Best By date of August 12, 2017
My bottles were packaged between the 1st and 7th of September 2014.
My bottles have a Best By date of September 3, 2016
-->I might want to dive in sooner than later!

Seems plausible but it is simply my educated guess.

    Cheers!
