Sipping my first 2015 Snowstorm- a Wallonian-style brown ale. I always look forward to this seasonal and I haven't been disappointed yet. Great reddish-brown color with a slightly sweet, malty biscuit nose with some nice spicy flavor notes. I was a bit skeptical when I saw this year's version was going to be a brown ale but this looks like another solid beer from Schells. Anyone else had this yet? Anyone seen it on tap in the west metro area?
This makes four consecutive years of Belgian inspired Snowstorms. Enough already. I am just not a fan of Schell's Belgian style attempts and this one was no exception.
I love Snowstorm. Despite not living there I try to find some every year. Since '05, I've missed a couple years '06 and '09.
Good beer, but I just do not dig Belgian style beers to the point where I want to revisit them. Picked up a single, and this was a one and done for me. I know Im also not the only one to feel this way, because for the past few years Ive this on massive closeout. I don't get why Schells keeps going back to the Belgian styles either, because they just do not sell well.
