I just tried this beer and without a doubt one of the best beers in this style around the country! The smell, taste and body of banana's, cloves and cinnamon are well balanced making it a delicious treat like no other. I love this beer! Congrats Schells on well done beer!!

Interesting you would post that now... I'm drinking it for the first time as I type.

I'm not familiar with the Weizenbock style, but it is enjoyable. I wouldn't say "treat like no other", but it is enjoyable. Schell's knows how to brew German beers.

It was OK, but if I want bananas I'll have a Weihenstephaner Hefe Weissbier

Wee hot in summer for a weizenbock, but we had a cold snap of sorts in IA with highs back down in the low 70s last week just as this beer hit shelves. Perfect timing. Not desert in a glass, cinnamon is subtle, but agree classic, well done classic hefe weissbiers like Weihenstephaner (and Schell's own, and at least in Iowa market Urban Chestnut Schnickelfritz from STL) hit the spot on a hot summer day.

I had this on tap for a Schell's Tap Takeover at New Bohemia and it's a great weizenbock. Thankfully, as others point out, the cinnamon is very subtle.

My only complaint is that I've not seen it on the shelves at the stores I frequent. I'm hoping that will change soon.

It is at Franklin Nicollet Liquors. We have quietly become a decent craft beer store. We get new stuff each week. I am the beer buyer there. If anyone has any requests or suggestions who frequent the store let me know.
