You should be able to find Dawn of Aurora and some of the others possibly too. I still have seen as far back as Framboise Due Nord in the twin cities and it sounds like smaller towns on the out skirts actually have a hard time selling it.

 

closest Schell's distro gets to me is Kenosha; doesn't come into IL. So technically you're right I don't need to haul all the way to MN...but I mean Decorah is on the way....

And yes, in S. MN where I'm from most guys would certainly leave a $15 bottle of beer on the shelf. For me. This past January I saw '13 and '14 LB Commander at MGM Liquors in Mankato. Likely long gone at most Cities stores.

 

For some reason my local liquor store in Jordan had like 4 bottles of Framboise last time I was in there. They haven't gotten any of the other releases. Suburban liquor stores are the best, never know what you're going to find.

 

Any Iowans know the scoop on Cypress Blanc hitting Eastern Iowa?

 

Odd, guess I assumed Chicago and the surrounding area got Schells.

I wasn't implying you shouldn't, just saying to keep an eye out because there maybe some gems out there, but looks like you already know that.

I agree, they have been a treasure trove to get limited releases easily and find older stuff. Downside, you have to be very diligent on checking dates for beers where it matters.

I live in Albertville and I do find it odd that stores out my way get releases anywhere from the same week as places that get them first to weeks or more. Schells seems to be the worst. Westside in Albertville won't get cypress for another 2+ weeks.

I just picked up a bottle of the Cypress Blanc. Does anyone know what base beer was used? Deer Brand?

 

I like Cypress Blanc. Probably the most Brett forward of the series especially in the aroma. Does not have the wheat twang of course and the dry hopping adds some nice floral notes. Will buy another and let it sit for awhile and see if it develops. Star of the North was fabulous with a year age on it.

 

Any Cyprus Blanc in the downtown area? My wife is in Minneapolis for work next week.

 

I got some at Elevated and Zipps always seems to have stuff first.

 

It should be everywhere that sells beer, it's omnipresent right now.

 

Bottled Starkeller making an appearance in NYC for Where the Wild Beers Are today. We're getting close!

 

The order that they lined those beers up in is bothering me way more than it should.
