That's fair. I am partial to said farm brewery, but I do find them pricey and probably buy less than I would from them as a result. Think it's also important to note scale here as JA is a much larger brewery than WS. Schilling's 4 pack price point is as good as any in the $11-12 range here, comparable to my VA favorite Ardent.

Picked up some Paulus (Munich-style Helles) last night, another winner from Schilling. Great bouquet of traditional Noble hops on the nose, malt-forward in taste and cleaned up by the hops. Just a great drinker that IMO is on standard with German-made Helles.

On a separate note, I've noticed that the can dates are essentially unreadable on the past few packs I've purchased. Anyone else noticed?

Yeah that rings a bell, although I feel as if I've seen that on a lot of cans from craft breweries lately.

Almost looks as if the printer has a hard time hitting the bottom of the can and gets too close to the edge, or right on the edge, making it blurry and unreadable.

Kind of a pain, but if I really want to know the date I look back at Instagram posts to get an idea of when something was canned.

My last Schilling review on 12/12/20 (Nordertor) notes that the date stamp is illegible. I recollect rooting around in the cooler looking for cans with good dates and not being able to find one.

Same here. Rarely a complaint with Schilling’s beer quality, but their can date legibility left much to be desired with many of the cans I’ve had over the past months. That same issue above, always askew that @AlcahueteJ mentions. Annoying for sure, but I’d employ the same tactic of checking Instagram for a general idea of the beer release.

That said, the Boniface and Trapu cans I had recently were perfectly dated. Dead center on the bottom of the can, crystal clear, easy to read. The Fabulant bottle that I also had did not have any date info that I could find.

Mouthwatering pic. Perfect pour in precisely my favorite glass. I could go for a classic oatmeal stout right now.

When in doubt on can dates, use Instagram.

Was up at the brewery yesterday, I grabbed seven 4-pks and the dates are legible on all 7. That Jaroslav is really something. Hanse canned on 3/9..outstanding.

Picked up some Augustin 13 Polotmavy last night. Was OK, not one of my favorites - prefer Notch's version much better.

Can date is legible this time. Really need to make a trip up to the source this summer or sooner.

Over the weekend had some Hanse Keller Pils canned 3/9. Crisp and clean tasting, but cloudy in appearance. Noble hops galore.

    Another winner from them.

It did get distributed, but it's been a long while since it's been around. Looks like the last time it was canned was March 2020.

Grabbed a handful of singles today (Glimmen, Hierarchy, Brücius, Schälen). Schälen is delicious but I'm picking up this spicy white wine note that that I'm assuming is from Hallertauer Blanc that I'm not a huge fan of, however the drinkablility is phenomenal. Looking forward to trying the rest.
