Not to tell you you're wrong, because it's a matter of opinion and all, but the overall reviews for UC and Schlafly are remarkably similar. 93 to 92 overall, with a very similar distribution of individual beer scores. UC has far fewer reviews, so things could change a little in either direction. But based on the numbers here, if UC is cranking out world class beers, Schlafly is right there with them.

I haven't tried a lot of Schlafly's seasonal stuff. This is where hope resides for me when I don't like the main line of beers for some companies. ^^^ Still waiting to see the pumpkin ale in my neck of the woods.

Bombers are good but overpriced. Tasmanian kicks ass though! Trying to choose between that, Sucks and Palate Wrecker makes me want to punch myself.

Schlafly's American IPA can challenge any of the best IPA's (Two Hearted, Racer 5, Jai Alai, Sculpin, ect) in the country and hold it's own or win out! - one of the truly underrated beers in the U.S.

I'm from STL, but now I live in NYC. Schlafly is well received up here. More and more bars are starting to have it on tap. Especially the AIPA.

Perennial is also well received here in NYC. More beer stores are starting to stock their bottles.

nuttin wrong w/ Sclhafly. As far as Missouri goes, I prefer Boulevard. But Schlafy is the real deal. Not all great brewers are concentrated in Cali, Michigan or the nor'east.

never bought one due to sticker shock + lukewarm reviews whenever i check on something i find + price doesn't usually match style in my personal calculus.

wouldn't be surprised if they're great, but i'd need more outright motivation to try their stuff.

I enjoy them. Not many of them, are great, but most are very good. They crank out some styles that little love or attention, so I'm all for that. My only knock on them are their canned session beers, neither of the two I tried were worth buying.

Tasmanian is pretty good, and so is the Irish Stout. Most of their lineup is mediocre. A few years ago, they changed most of their upper alcohol seasonals from 8% to 7.2% and the quality dropped also. Their coffee stout is nowhere as good as it used to be. Boulevard and Perennial are both better missouri brewers. I notice export IPA and American IPA's BA entries now reflect their updated abv, but I think there are some other ones that changed as well.

Been drinking them for several years, while I don't like everything they make, I call them the most under-rated brewery in the US and being under the radar is perfectly fine with me...

Yes, I think the Schlafly's Pumpkin was the best in class this past fall. Their Tasmanian IPA is right there with all the other top ones listed on BA IMO. Very solid brewer. Decent prices as well.

Which bombers are you referring to? The few large format bottles I'm familiar with are bargains compared to most.

    Drinking an AIPA now....

Their seasonal stuff tends to be their better beers in a lot of cases, so that makes sense. I dig a lot of their regular stuff, but I can see where one wouldn't find it to be anything spectacular. Just quality beer that I'd have no problem drinking six of, but nothing I'd necessarily trade for, either. The APA is the exception, though. It's terrific when it's fresh.

I think their Tasmanian IPA is one of the best out there. Also enjoy the Dry Hopped APA and Winter ESB.

Their pumpkin ale is one of my favorites. I'd be interested in trying more styles, but I've never seen Schlafly for sale here in PA.

Only one I've had the chance to try (no distro here) is the Tasmanian IPA, and I thought it was great. Definitely made me wish I had easier access to their offerings.
