What you need is one of these:http://www.amazon.com/The-BeerBelly-200-001-80-Ounce-Belly/dp/B001RB2CXY

Maybe they make a version with multiple tubes so that you can share with your friends?

We American know how to innovate!

Most beer bars serve their beers in 'common' glasses so the majority of those beers were served in pint glasses (e.g., shaker glasses).

There is one beer bar (Teresas Next Door; you almost went there) that has a boat load of fancy serving vessels so that you drink the beer in the appropriate vessel like Chimay in a Chimay branded chalice. They also have Steinkrugs there so when I order a Mahr's beer, that is always served in a Mahr's branded Steinkrug.

I personally like to see my beers so I prefer a serving vessel made of glass. I am not put off by a hazy appearance so if I were to be served a Mahr's Ungespundet-hefetrüb in a glass (see through) vessel that would be A-OK with me.

    Cheers!

Well next time Teresas has Mahr's (or St. Georgenbrau, for that matter), have your first kellerbier served properly, and then ask for your second to be served in a clear glass and report back!

Next time I order a bottle of Mahr's Ungespundet-hefetrüb at Teresa's Next Door I will request a glass in addition to the Steinkrug. Pour half in the glass and half in the Steinkrug and conduct a side-by-side tasting. I'll let you know how this 'experiment' goes.

I will also conduct proper pouring technique since as @Crusader knows, a proper pour is important!

    Cheers!

@Crusader, I should have made mention in the above post that my wife has mentioned numerous times that 'we' should purchase this Beer Belly so 'we' can bring homebrewed beers to sporting events. She even volunteered to be the wearer (she would simply appear to be pregnant). Her birthday was just a few days ago and the thought of buying this as a birthday present crossed my mind. I must admit that I have not yet 'pulled the trigger' to buy the Beer Belly. I suppose I am conflicted!?!

    Cheers!

This will not do. If you're only going to have one (understandable), drink the first half and then pour the rest into the glass. :stuck_out_tongue:

The only one of these beers I can get locally is the Urban Chestnut Zwickel. When they first opened, they served them in a Steinkrug. So many were stolen that they stopped and switch to a Becher. When you go to their Biergarten in the summer you have to leave a hefty deposit on the Seidla and Maßkrüge.

I am all in favor of the liquid filling the drinking vessel and not spilling  :stuck_out_tongue:.

I had to make sure the first sentence didn't read "I've mentioned to my wife..." :stuck_out_tongue:. It's a good concept, but actually using it might not be as fun, not having a glass to hold and having to drink through a straw. Then again, it would be pretty old school traditional.

I will be splitting a bottle into two serving vessels: one will be a glass and the other will be the Steinkrug.

Am I confused here or is it you?

    Cheers!

If it is good enough for the Egyptians (or are they Sumerian) ….:astonished:

    Cheers!

P.S. All kidding aside, my concern is carbonation. I am unsure how a plastic bladder would adequately hold carbonation over a long period of time.

    Both?

Pour the entire bottle into the krug and drink half (that is, if you really must have it bottled). Pour the rest from the krug into the glass and commence tasting comparison.

    Edited to clarify.

Actually I wish more places would do the deposit thing. Certainly preferred (IMHO) to the red solo cup approach.

Bottle to Krug to Glass is a double pour. That is almost as bad as double dipping your chip!:grimacing:

Nah, I am 99.99% sure that Crusader would not approve of a double pour. He is a real stickler when it comes to a proper pour!

    Cheers!

OK, order two bottles, one to go into a krug and one into a glass. Drink exactly 50% from the krug and exactly 50% from the glass and compare notes. Then give the remainder to your wife or traveling companion and charge them accordingly so that everyone has paid for and consumed one beer. Then report back on your findings.

This conversation has not been as productive as I had hoped.

Yea, don't forget that a 0.5 l bottles of Mahr's U in a bar (or even a bottle shop) will likely go for around $7 each.

They're $4.99 each here in the bottle shop. I haven't seen them in a bar. I wonder if they're bringing kegs?

I knew I got ripped paying $6.95. Had to do it, though...once.
