Anyone else have this out of the bottle? After sending a bottle to a trading partner and hearing a rave review, I finally cracked my bottle. Well, foam city. It's very dry and a little tart. All signs point to infection on this. I'm wondering if maybe there was some bottle variation as I'm tasting a completely different beer than what was described by my buddy.

I have opened two bottles of this and have had zero forms of infection. Both were absolutely delicious! Sounds like you got a bad bottle and should try another.

Just cracked a bomber - a nice airy blast of carbonation as the cap comes off.

Tart, dry, and infected as hell. Honestly, one of the most disgustingly infected beers I've ever opened. Tasted of hair spray - took a few minutes to empty all of the foamy sludge from the bottle. Eek.

Good beer, very Bourbon forward, but thin mouthfeel, watery even. No signs of infection with mine. Want a great Bourbon beer? Try the Bourbon Abominable from Fremont brewing.

It's no longer on the top 250. We're safe.

[EDIT: Oh no! I'm wrong, it's at 220 right now! I blame BourbonBarrelBeerBelly.]

I've never heard of that beer. It must suck.

No hand numbering on the label = no point in trying

That must be a typo. It's above a Hill Farmstead beer.

Total typo. It's not rare, how can it be higher?

I've had 2 bottles of this, no infection. Maybe the infection was specific to one barrel? It was pretty good for a medium strength BA imperial porter. Better mouthfeel and barrel character than I expected, in the 4 - 4.25 range for me.

I'll just go edit my review. Knock that score down a few points. It'll stay our little secret.:sunglasses:
