The Brits were on to something back in the day. I'm going to pour me another IPA right now and enjoy it even more with no guilt and look forward to a long life!

If only I hadn't slacked off so much in Chemistry…I could've been a Beer Scientist!

I learned about this element about hops from a documentary on Weihenstephaner that I saw on YouTube, although they only briefly touched on it

Now once they identify the desirable humulones, hops can be genetically modified to produce them in sufficiently large quantities that 12 ounces of beer or ale could become an adult's Minimum Daily Requirement. Of course since More Is More, and It's Better To Be Safe Than Sorry, you don't want to stop at just one!

Like A-B brewer and chemist @Peter_Wolfe?
From his BA profile: "I am the Innovations Brewmaster for Anheuser-Busch's New Ventures group. I design and brew entirely new beers, meads, ciders, etc. I have worked in the past as a brewing scientist, including research and work on hop aroma and beer staling. I am active in the professional brewing community, including the Hop Research Council and public hop breeding program."

    Randy,

Thanks for posting this. I did not realize that Peter has moved on and is now a Brewmaster brewing new beers. Sounds exciting to me!!

    Cheers!
