I think "WHAT THE?!" is what the employee that had those stashed said when he saw they were on the shelf.

Sadly I think they did come from the employee stash, felt guilty getting that 24.

I'm pretty sure it was more R-rated than that

Last year's infected Chocolate Ale that's past its best-by date? Fell for that once, thanks Rosedale Market.

Love it how people preface things with phrases like that - glad you found yours

Not all of it was infected. Just one batch.

Only three batches total, so 33% chance. Plus, they're all past the best-by date, regardless if that particular bottle is from the infected batch or not.

All of the bottles that came to Texas were from the infected batch.

I saw bottles come out later that had a slightly different label. It was after the recall.

If I recall batch 1, 2 and 3 were all bad and we didn't get any of them that weren't from those. I looked at many places trying to find some non infected bottles since my wife loved the beer on draft.

I didn't buy any. I was just going on what I was told. You are probably right.

So, how can you tell if its infected?

Apparently batches 2011-1, 2011-2, 2011-3 "exhibit flavors and aromas not intended"

That's correct. I was living in Kansas City back then. Got lucky and got a few 2011-4. Still didn't taste as good as on tap, though.

Slightly sour, from what I understood. I still intend to eventually drink the infected bottle I have.
