Hello. BrewDog has an entire series of beers that have been aged in single malt barrels. It's called the Paradox series. They also have the collaboration with Three Floyds called Bitch Please that has a very peaty taste, I don't know if they used Lagavulin, Laphroig, Arbeg or what they used but it's definitely an Islay. But on the Paradox series they have dozens of different single malts. Check them out.

I really want to try the Paradox series, but I had the Paradox Macallan and it said it was bottled in 2008, when I drank it it was way past its prime, flat and hardly any taste. All the Paradox at my local liquor store say bottled in 2008, are they going to release new ones anytime soon? I'd really be interested in having a fresh batch thats not flat.

Funny - I am thinking of making something like this for a homebrewing project next month. I have had this style, although I can't remember what brand, now that I try to remember...

I'm pretty sure it saw distribution, I remember hearing about it making it to stores in Charlotte at least anyway.

Hello. Yes do try to get a more current one. The ones I see here in Dallas are from the last 6 months or so. And you can also try to order it online from BrewDog or other online vendors that will have fresher bottles. Good luck.

The Innis and Gunn Cask series is pretty good, if you can find both the Irish Cask and the Highland Cask you could do a side by side of Irish Whiskey vs Scotch. Throw in a Rum Cask and its a party.

As you can imagine the Paradox range isn't super hard to find here. The Arran casks are all the rage at the moment and the bottle I bought couple of weeks ago is pretty fresh.

Is this still available? I am coming down for Churchill's and I really want to snag a bottle.

I'm not sure, it may still be floating around some places. Holiday had it last time I was there but that was awhile ago at least a month maybe more.

Fraoch Vintage Cask No. 22 by Williams Brothers Brewing in Scotland. Its retired now, I had it a few years ago, but this was one of the best barrel aged beers I've ever had. Imperial heather ale aged in Auchentoshan Scotch whisky barrels.

2016 BCBS Proprietors will be aged in Scotch Whisky barrels. Assuming it's not infected (insert jokes & smartass comments here), it should be well done. Get yourself to Chicago or find a trading partner.

Central Waters is distributed in New York, so should show up there soon, as their 2016 calendar shows June release. Just came from my local store where I had hoped to buy up the last of the Central Waters Bourbon Barrel Stout, but it ran out finally. Nice open spot in the case, seems ready for the Bourbon Barrel Scotch Ale!
