    Cheers for that.

What people don't know is that Scotland has the German immigrants to Glasgow (in the late 19th Century) to thank for its long lasting love affair with good German beer. The Glasgow German community then , now largely lost because of WW1, and the resulting internment, was once highly influencial and they contributed much to what then 'the second city of the Empire'. I myself descend from this community, a community which loved Scotland but never forgot their proud German heritage.

FWIW, I have just finished my Burns supper, some Ola Dubh 1991 and some whisky. I think a bottle of Schlenkerla Eiche is in order!

Zimbo, I have developed a love for Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier. Amazingly, I can get it at almost any decent liquor store in Northwest Arkansas and at a decent price. This is what I call craft beer.
