I'll be visiting north Scottsdale for a few days in June. This is my first time in Arizona and want to hit a local brewery and bottle shop. It looks like we'll only have time to hit one brewpub for lunch and will have our 9 month old with us, so I need something pretty kid friendly.

In reading other threads I've seen that Arizona Wilderness, Four Peaks, and Fate get great reviews. We will be down in the Tempe/Mesa area one day so location isn't an issue. Please help me narrow it down to one for lunch. I love IPA's, stouts, Belgians, and sours so no restrictions on style. I'm open to other suggestions.

Also, I'll be stopping by a bottle shop on the first day to stock up on some beers for a few days. I see there's a Whole Foods on Mayo not far away. Is that my best bet or should I go somewhere else?

    Thanks!

In North Scottsdale Whole Foods is your only bottle shop and lunch combo. If you make it to South Scottsdale Papago is a great option also for lunch/bottle shop and you will feel like you are in a bar/restaurant rather than a grocery store. Fate is only open for lunch Friday-Sunday. Four Peaks has a great lunch and a great patio in Tempe.

i'd say Four Peaks or OHSO. both have great patios.

Thanks guys! We can hit a bottle shop and also a brewery for lunch. I guess Fate is out so we'll probably hit Whole Foods and Four Peaks.

if you make it out to Tempe, give Tops Liquors/Taste of Tops a visit. they can have some good taps and the liquor store can sometimes have some hidden gems. otherwise, you have the standard liquor superstores like Total Wine and Bevmo, both of which get raided pretty fast for rare beers. if you are looking to snag some standard regional beers, they can be a good visit. if you are a stout fan, highly suggest snagging a sixer of Sante Fe Imperial Java Stout.

Nice info on here. Thanks for the tips. I will be visiting Sat. And part of Sun before heading to Sedona.
