Last year, Sculpin was a rare treat in NEPA. This year, it appears to be everywhere. My question is how often are you grabbing it? I grabbed a six of grapefruit sculpin cans when they first hit the area, but I am concerned that since so many area shops/restaurants got it(Krugel's, J&H, Sabatini's, Joe's, Cooper's), that we will now suffer the fate of a lot of other areas for BP stuff- specifically old product sitting on the shelf because of the price point. When only J&H got it, he would clean up on it in a matter of days. Now it's sitting...everywhere. Thoughts?

I love Sculpin, but fresh is best. Occasionally it shows up on Long Island only 3 weeks old. At that point it is gold. A month or so later not same beer.

Absolutely agree about freshness. I always grab some right when it shows up locally because it's fresh. Goes without saying, but it definitely holds up better in cans.

Where/when have you seen Grapefruit Sculpin cans in NEPA? Price? At least we know they are pretty fresh.

J&H and Krugel's both had GF sculpin cans for around $15. Sabatini's still had bottles for roughly the same. All three had regular sculpin cans and bottles, bottled/canned mid April.

A good beer is a good beer. At the optimal time of freshness very hoppy, very aromatic, pungently bitter. After that still a good beer with the bitter edge taken off. Still aromatic and still tasty. There is a market for guys want it fresh and guys that want it to sit a little and settle in bitterness.

I've yet to see the grapefruit in cans in the Scranton area. Jessup Beverage had the bottles a few months back that I gladly helped them dispose of though!
