The irony of someone with the worst grammar I've yet seen on BA posting this, is just painful.

Isn't sculpin best by date 6 months from bottling date? Or is it 3 months now? In either case, sculpin has LONG fallen off by either of those dates. Also if you recall (I don't actually know that you CAN recall, as my opinion of your intellect is very low) I bought the sculpin as fresh as humanly possible to someone in my geographical location; I'd imagine that it was delivered before the "best by" date.

I definitely disagree on the price complaints. I can get it for $15/6 pack, much cheaper per oz than virtually any other beer in top 50. The top IPAs seem to be the most highly debated beers, so I can understand some people liking it and others not.

I recently told a friend to try PtE on tap at a local place, didn't tell him what it was, just that he needed to try it. After ordering "Plight of the Elderly" or something like that, he called me and said "It's decent, but I prefer the local fresh hopped IPAs "

Just an example of what an "uninformed" person thought of the #3 beer in the world.

Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, Weihenstephaner and I think Abrasive beg to disagree.

For that matter, its not much cheaper than pliny

Comparing Sculpin to PTE is like comparing apples with oranges.

It's $14 a six pack where I live, and it comes from one state away, so I have no problem with the price, value, or the freshness. It is as good an IPA as there is in my opinion and I have had them all (or at least a lot of them). Compared to other bombers going for $8 and up, $14 for the sixer is fine with me.

Maybe Weihenstephaner is cheaper, didn't even realize that was up there. HT and ZD may start out cheaper (I have no idea), but trying to find them is the problem. By the time I get my hands on either of those they are significantly marked up. I believe PtE comes in 16.9oz bottles for ~$6... you can do the math there

Sculpin is readily available, reasonably priced, ranked at #48... all together that makes it a terrible candidate for most overrated, IMO.

HT and ZD are really not too hard to get a hold of, but you'd need someone to ship it to you, at that point it won't be cheaper but hey, sculpin isn't available for everyone either!

And yes pliny is more expensive, but its actually as cheap as $5 a bottle, which isnt bad. Even cheaper if you get it by the growler!

These big fruity IPA's are definately better fresh and Sculpin is one of these. I am enjoying one as we speak (type) and it is almost at the end of it's best by date. Still a tasty brew but no "Oh Wow! moment". I can see the PTE reference though. I would love to do a side by side tasting of both beers fresh. I have only had one awesome PTE tasting and the others were a let down. Then no more PTE in Oregon for at least two years!

I think goes for about $10 a sixer in Oregon.

$16 a sixer, in cans, in Arizona caused me to put it back on the shelf. I do love it though, and wouldn't consider it overrated.

Excellent on tap. Damn good out of the bottle but there are better cheaper IPAs out there.

Now that DirtWolf is available to me fresh and for literally half the price I do not expect to ever purchase several month old $17 Sculpin again.

I don't know if it's the most overrated, but definitely the most inconsistent.

I think I would take DW over most DIPAs. I liked it better than my first time Heady Topper, which was last night
