THANK YOU!!! It is over hyped, a lot. A buddy of mine raved about it for a long time and after I had it, wasn't impressed. It was good but I've had better.

It actually might be my favorite IPA, but I rarely buy it because I'd rather get Jai Alai for cheaper

I'd say Sculpin is underrated when fresh and overrated when not.

I've had it fresh, had it old and every way in between and it's just not that good.

Had Sculpin on tap, in a bomber and six pack and was not impressed. Might have been out of date (though I doubt the tap version and new label versions were), would like try it fresher.

My son brings fresh Sculpin by, and we sometimes take cans to the golf course. It's a great beer, and a little goes a long way- one about every 6 holes is perfect. One must budget. I'm sharp as a tack heading up number 18.

Boo hoo hoo. You didn't have it fresh. It's the greatest beer ever when it's "fresh." Sob...sniff....sob. If you don't agree you never had it "fresh." Wah

$17, you are getting boned for sure. It's $13.99 here in flyover country. Taste it again without being angry at the price and you'll feel better.

Over rated depends on who and where, but the price point IMO is absurd. It's a very solid IPA that's way over priced for what it is.

I don't know. It's top tier, for sure. Is it the best single? I don't think so, but I don't know that I'd debate someone who thought that. It's balanced, fragrant, and bold. A great beer, easily top 10 on my list and maybe top 5. When IPAs get to that level, I think it's all down to personal taste. I would say the biggest gap between hype and delivery for me was EASILY 3F Dreadnaught. That beer continues to baffle me as to why people are so into it.

Good? Of Course. Overrated? Maybe. Overpriced? Definitely.

$13.99 a 6er here in NJ works out to $.19 an ounce. Fresh Sculpin is incredible...had some 2 week old Sculpin the other day and was blown away. The first six pack I had must not have been nearly as fresh.

I've seen many a thread praising Hop Stoopid for being $5 for 22oz, or $.22 an ounce. Not sure how you can have it both ways.

When I get it fresh, it's great and is worth every penny. That being said, I've had it not-so-fresh and it definitely feels like a rip off.

    It's a risky buy where I live...so I've avoided it unless I know it's fresh.

I'd take Enjoy By out of that equasion. Only because it souldn't be mentioned in the same breath as the others on your list...

Its newly distributed in MA for $14 a sixer. I have been buying a lot of it. Yes its $2 more than Flower Power or Union Jack, but that is $0.33 a bottle. Still a way cheaper alternative than a $7 draft or a $10 bomber. Haven't seen any cans yet.

I got a fresh bomber earlier this year and thought it was great. It's definitely overpriced at $9-$10 for a bomber though. There are double IPAs, that are only available in bombers, that are cheaper and better.

It amazes me how people quibble over a few dollars price difference between beers.

Everyday there's someone talkin crap on Sculpin.

    WTF.

Sculpin is straight up amazing. I've had Pliny, Heady, Wet, Permanent Funeral etc... and Sculpin is > or = any of them.

I feel like some sort of older brother always having to stick up for it.

I will agree on overpriced, but isn't all the beer we buy overpriced?
