Had Sculpin on several occasions and was always disappointed and assumed it caused by traveling/age issues. Anyone with the same experience try the canned version and been impressed? Looking forward to trying it canned.

    Canned is always better.

Has always been an inconsistent brew to me. Even when it's fresh. I also am hoping for better consistency from the cans.

I've found it to be a very inconsistent beer from my experience. The best was on tap about two years ago.

Make sure you get it fresh, big difference between fresh and not fresh.

Wildly inconsistent, mostly disappointing in any format (from what I used to drink on trips out west at least).

Used to think it was a freshness issue due to many poor drafts untiI I had a 2 week old bottle recently that was just as bad. I give up.

Recent shipment of canswas a dissapointment. Draft as well as of late. Just a slightly drier version of caramel/grassy new england IPA's imo. What the heck happened to this beer since its launch in the Boston area? It was a juicy/citrusy hop bomb when it first hit the area in bombers a few years ago - color is even darker than that version.

I'd like to know too. That was the first time I had it, in a bomber a few years back. It was awesome. It has never impressed me in the least since.

Had it on draft at Lord Hobo closing in on a year ago, so I'm assuming that freshness wasn't an issue. I was pretty underwhelmed given the hype. If memory serves, Longstaff's description seems about right. Haven't purchased it in any format since.

Second. Had it on tap at a reputable place in AZ last year--what a letdown.

Used to have the same issues until the canned version came out - now it's all good!

I picked up a 6 pack of the new cans recently. They were a few weeks old when I got them. I had high hopes, but it wasn't really different from the bottles I've had.

When I had Sculpin years ago it was a revelation, now it's just so-so. Wasn't sure if this was a palate/experience thing or what. Seems like a lot of people are thinking this has declined.

Picked up the cans when they first hit shelves here - Definitely the best non-draft Sculpins I've ever had in New England. Can't imagine buying bottles ever again

Spotted a sixth barrel of it at Kappy's in Medford the other day if someone's looking for THAT much of it.

I've yet to find it in cans, but recently have had bottles and draft both locally and in DC. I'll echo the general sentiment that Sculpin has declined in taste (IMO). The price is usually pretty steep, which didn't matter much when it was good, but now it keeps me away.

First tried it last Summer; wasn't a fan…had a bottle recently from CBC Braintree and thought it was great. Go figure.

My experience was draft was great, bottles were okay...as far as cans go. The coop has em' for around 14.95 a sixer. I'll be over that way Saturday if you would like me to bring you some.

Been drinking from bottles and like it well enough, though not world class. Looking forward to a can.
