It's not. It even costs that much at the brewery. So at least in that regard, you're getting a "good price."

I love both with a passion but honestly prefer regular just slightly. I love the complexity of the hop profile, and grapefruit, while tasty, overpowers it.

P.S. Yes, it is too expensive, but so good it's still worth buying occasionally.

I feel pretty much the same way. The Grapefruit version reminded me of those grapefruit flavored jelly candies more than actual grapefruit. In the end I preferred the original recipe.

I'd pay for either just to get to try them.

I have never even had the original but I would bet I like the Grapefruit more.
Grapefruit Sculpin is probably in my top 10 IPAs ever.. Maybe top 5

I still prefer the original, but Grapefruit Sculpin is excellent.

Where exactly is this Sculpin wonderland of which you speak?

Loved the grapefruit when I could find it fresh, but now all the stuff on shelves is from feb. I'm waiting 'til it comes out in cans to try it again. Got some fresh canned Sculpin in the meantime and it's great.

We don't get regular sculpin very fresh here, and in that state it's nothing too special, or atleast worth the price. The grapefruit version though makes up for that so I do buy it occasionally

I had a Sculpin on tap yesterday, completely unimpressed, it's ok, but that's about it.

I bought a pack of grapefruit due to all of the BA hype. I wasnt that impressed. I feel like a lot of beers have grapefruit notes now. Maybe I was expecting more but it was just meh.

Either way it's a rare purchase but GF Sculpin is too grapefruity for me.

The grapefruit is just about the perfect addition to Sculpin so I have to vote for that. I've also been digging Big Eye lately, some more of the tropical fruit flavors in there without the lasting bitterness.

Both great, but I have to watch bottling date carefully. Not always easy to get it less than 45 days old here. Wish grapefruit was here in cans. Cans of regular Sculpin are difficult to find in the ATL.

I have to agree with you. The grapefruit feels artificial and over the top to me due to it being so strong and prevalent. Don't get me wrong, I'll still drink it if it'a around, but don't go out of my way to find it. Picking between the two I'd go with fresh regular if I had to.

On a side note, if you haven't had their Grunion then check it out. I've only found it on draft recently in NY. It's superb.
