Hey, I'm going to be in Encinitas for the next week for work(from PA) . I will be staying in Solana Beach.

Could anyone recommend a good bottle shop near by? I was also hoping to hit up a brewery or two. Could anyone give me a recommendation. Stone, Alpine, Lost Abbey? I was at Pizza Port last time I was out.

    Thanks

You are a ways from Alpine but its always your best option. Iron Fist, Aztec, Lost Abbey, Stone, Stumblefoot, Wet n Reckless, Rough Draft, Oceanside Ale Works, Mother Earth, Breakwater, Hess are all very close to you as well.

Bottleshop I would say the one next to Pizza Port Carlsbad. If you venture downtown you have Bottlecraft and best damn beer shop. Also Mission Brewery and Ballast Point Tasting room.

Agree with everything said above. I would also add that you should pop your head into as many crappy looking liquor stores as possible, it is where I have found most of gems around town. It is often overlooked as it's so common in Ca. but many other states don't have such luxury.

Ok guys thanks for the help. Also I know there are a ton of great other beers around, but is RR stuff common in the area?

The basics are in pretty much all the bottleshops....Livewire and Eleven almost always have something from them on tap.

    This is sound advice.

Alpine is great but a bit of a drive. Stone/Lost Abbey are much closer and both fun.

Google maps says 50 minutes from Encinitas to Alpine. I take it this is very unrealistic with traffic?

All depends what time of day. Anytime after 5pm there will be traffic. Other than that you should be fine. It is worth the drive.
