I live in San Marcos and the closest good bottle shop that I know of is Holiday Wine Cellar. There are some others scattered throughout Poway, RB, and Ramona that I've been to also but I'm looking for something that's closer, preferably here in San Marcos. If anyone knows of a good place and can message me about it, I'd appreciate it. Tons of places to drink but I want to pick stuff up for home too.
Take a trip to Carlsbad and hit Texas Wine and the Pizza Port bottle shop. While you're there you can get something on tap from PP.
I too live in San Marcos and Holiday Wine will be your best bet for most things. Additionally, Texas Wine in Carlsbad also has a decent selection, but can be slightly overpriced. Liquor Stop on San Marcos Blvd. is acceptable if you're looking for everyday drinkers i.e., Pliny and other Russian River, Firestone Walker, etc.
Vista wine and spirits on shadowridge drive off the sycamore exit on the 78 has a pretty good selection and usually some pretty cool stuff.
The same people that own Vista Wine and Spirits also own La Vista Liquor (993 s sante fe ave vista,ca). They're selections are pretty much the same. There is also a liquor store in San Marcos on the corner of Rancho Santa Fe and Capalin Rd that has an OK selection.
