Ill be in san diego over thanksgiving and was wondering what people can share about bourbon county release events. Also I'd like to try to get some of firestone walker's special beers (stickee monkee, parabola, sucuba, etc.). Not sure how long these stay on shelves but if anyone knows where I might be able to find some over around the end of november I'd really appreciate it!
bcbs, hang out in front of BevMos basically. I think the local bottle shops get some but not usually on black friday (they tend to get them during the week after). firestone beers, you would need to setup an IP trade as those are seasonal releases and tend to last maybe 1-2 days on shelves here in SD.
It varies wildly since some stores like to gouge on prices, but I would say they were between $12 - $16 with Parabola usually being the most expensive, iirc.
The only place you'll find them for $12 is at Costco, the retail price is around 16 and they can hover around 18-20 some times depending on the liquor store. Sadly they aren't the most dust collecting beers and can be very illusive on most of them. Parabola is a ghost on shelves. disappears very fast.
True, they usually let their regulars know or throw it up on instagram and leave the box on the counter. Getting Parabola 3 hours after it lands in a bottle shop is almost unheard of.
Got ahold of some BCBS at bevmo yesterday, my girl walked in a couple mins after they opened and didn't have a problem getting them. No variants 2 limit pp 11.99 a bottle. Liquor shop by me had them for 15.99 a bottle 1 pp. Owner had a stash of some 2015 stickee monkee and velvet in the back he was offering to people inquiring about BCBS. I think a lot of the liquor shops keep these releases out of sight
