Best Damn Beer Shop would be your go to from Gaslamp I believe. RR shipment came in yesterday to a few places and probably today to the other accounts so Pliny bottles should be flowing.

For backup....Modern Times released City of the Sun in bottles and it is drinking quite well.

Try Best Damn Beer Shop in the Krisp Market on 7th, between Broadway and C St. Your best bet for Pliny. They have everything local, too, so just ask.

Vampire dip. If you go to slaters, get the vampire dip.

Lots of other deliciousness @ BDBS. See if they received any Kern River Just Outstanding this week. Saint Archer Double IPA is a winner. As mentioned previously, Modern Times City of the Sun just released. That's as good a start as any.

Also check out Neighborhood for brews/eats nearby -- pretty sure they have Societe's The Pupil on right now, a local favorite IPA.

The Pliny does disappear pretty quickly, though, so don't get your hopes up.

We'd prob eat at Slaters and then drink a bit at Stone. We are unfortunate enough to not have Stone distro so I've yet to try many of their beers, so that'll be a treat. We have reservations at Juniper and Ivy and Searsucker being the Food TV show nerds we are. Can't wait for those as well.

    First choice: good choice.

Second one: meh. If you like fedora-wearing chefs that like the camera, it's probably worth a stop, but it is more of a looking pretty place than a place with good food.

If you like Food TV things, then perhaps you should consider Blue Water or even some of the taco trucks.

Thanks for the tip, may skip that one then. We wanted to do two modern upscale type places and the rest more casual. Blue Water looks pretty old school and a bit casual, am I wrong?

Searsucker has great food. It is kind of loud though and it is definitely a scene. If you want "modern upscale," you can't beat Cowboy Star. If that's out of the price range, the Smoking Goat in North Park is killer too. Their Ribeye and Duck Fat Fries are insane and they usually have some good rotating dishes. They had a duo of veal, veal chop and veal sweetbreads, which was probalby one of the best meals I've had.

If you like seafood, you can't miss Ironside Fish and Oyster. The place is killing it.

I've heard that about Ironside, but have yet to try it. Now I need to bump it up to the top of the list. LOL

Pat - I don't know about Blue Water being old school; it's just a seafood market that does simple things with the fish (i.e. tacos, etc.). Very casual. I was just joking about it because Guy Fieri was there a few years ago with the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives show, and it got ridiculously busy there after that (it still is busy).
