Don't you have like a job or school or something? How do you just go down to San Diego and drink on a random week night?

I would guess that would be highly frowned upon and not allowed. This fest is a more official fest with security guards and local authorities making sure everything is running smoothly, than say something like a local brewery festival (Stone, LA, Churchills, etc)

Have her bring her crack pipe too, they love that shit!

Of course it's an issue! Nothing like having someone's DD swigging from a bottle of NightTrain during a beer fest.

Ummm, she wasn't gonna be the actual DD. That's already arranged. I'm thinking you missed the point of my thread there.

Last years Guild fest was pretty chill. I seriously doubt a flask will be an issue. But, a crack pipe might turn a few heads. Thanks for the input.

Unpermitted alcohol containers can be a remarkably big issue to some people, such as festival organizers, police officers, and anyone else in positions of responsibility. There's a 99% chance that no one would know and it would be a non-issue...however, if something were to happen, liability can extend beyond your girlfriend.

New question: who wants to pick me up from the Airport around 1 p.m. and take me directly to Tornado on Friday :-)

I will be attending SDBW; any suggestions for hitting Toronado/Hamilton's without getting crushed? I will be on vacation, so time is not an issue .... or is it?

For Hamilton's go during the daytime. Weekend nights, even not during Beer Week, are often nuts to buts.

Toronado isn't as bad, usually packed for a few hours on Friday nights, manageable most others depending on the Beer Week event (the weekends will likely be packed all night).

I'd be interested in the tasting, too. I can work around those dates as long as there is a little bit of notice. Definitely doing the million zillion and Kern River nights though

What is the distance between Toronado/Hamilton's BTW? Is it walkable?

To be specific, the Route 2 - http://www.sdmts.com/mtscr/Route.aspx?r=2. It runs down 30th St., including stops within a block of Toronado, Hamilton's, and Tiger!Tiger!, as well as Downtown. San Diego's public transit in general is sort of a mess, but it's really easy to get around the Downtown/South Park/North Park corridor using the 2.

There is a bus, I forget which one, that picks up on El Cajon blvd (30th adjacent), and drops you off right Downtown. It's a fast ride to because it jumps on the 163. It's a solid cheap way to go. And getting back is like $10 in cab. Did it lat year for Downtown Johnny Brown's barrel night.

    Sunday 11/4: Hamilton's & Stone Brewing Company

    Monday 11/5: Local Habit

    Tuesday 11/6: SD Tap Room & O'Brien's

    Wednesday 11/7: Toronado & O'Brien's

    Thursday 11/8: Urge Gastropub

Friday 11/9: Green Flash Brewing Co & O'Brien's

    Saturday 11/10: Urge Gastropub

    Sunday 11/11: O'Briens

I took all of these days off from work. Actually I have most of the month of November off from work. My wife will be driving or dropping me off or picking me up to all of these events (she is pregnant). I will also be spending a good amount of time at Toronado (as usual). If anyone would like to join me at any of these events and wants to park at my place you are more than welcome just shoot me a message. Chris's bottleshare is a great way to start SDBW off as long as he does not get naked.
