Hey there,
I booked a weekend trip to San Diego 11/2-4, not realizing it was beer week.
Any suggestions for a few must do events, particularly Friday afternoon? The schedule is a bit overwhelming with events, and I'll be staying downtown without a car.

Also if anyone wants to trade easy to get New England locals (think Pretty Things, Slumbrew, etc), let me know!

 

Downtown Johnny Brown's is having a Barrel Aged event on Friday. DTJB's tends to be fairly low key, even for SDBW.

 

Heads up: we get Pretty Things here.

 

Which endorsements? Beer/Politics?

 

City Beat endorses beer? Do you read that rag?

 

Anyone doing anything cool Monday the 4th? We're crashing in Carlsbad after Lost Abbey Night of the Barrels and trying to plan our Monday.

Awesome, i'lll check it out. I'm a big fan of barrel aged beers.

RE: Pretty Things, I didn't think they even made it out of MA/NY, so shows what I know. Regardless, the offer still stands.

 

Last year's DTJB's Barrel Aged night was pretty crowded, but it didn't take to long to get a beer (10-15 mins). Really legit selection too. Def worth checking out with some friends if you can.

Depending on what time I arrive in SD, I'm hoping to swing by tomorrow night.

Monday the 5th we are doing the green flash 10th anniversary party / Flanders drive release. Gotta buy tix tho if u plan on checking that out. Should be awesome.
