We'll enjoy the beer without you. I will however, mention that there will be a collaboration beer from these breweries and Knee Deep is filling a cask of it. From Knee Deep we are expecting cask and draft of their collaboration Deep River Double IPA, and draft Hoptologist, Simtra and Midnight Black IIPA.

From Kern River we will be getting Just Outstanding IPA, Belgian Wit, Class V Stout, the new Shuttle Bunny Double IPA and the version of Deep River Double IPA brewed at Kern River. We will have some great pub grub to pair with the cask beers including Cottage Pie, Irish Nachos and a Nickel Pickel and Beer Cheese Plate.

Friday the 14th - Tyson's Big Ass Barrel Aged Beer Night This is always a good one. You know Tyson likes to find beers aged in as many different types of barrels as he can. This will be a night that includes all vintage beers. Highlights include Firestone Parabola and Sucaba, Ritual Boulevard Big Deluxe, Deschutes Black Butte XXIII, Lost Abbey Deliverance, Angels Share, RRBC Consecration and a ton more! Look for beers aged in Bourbon, Rye, Brandy, Tequila, Port and various wine casks. There will be barrel aged beers on tap all day, but most will be on tap at 5 pm.

Friday is Torta day around the pub and Humberto is planning TORTA MANIA for this particular day. I expect to have 5 different Torta options available including our great Roast Beef or Chicken Tortas and the Tom’s Torta. We’ll also have Lindsey’s awesome Beer Beef Stew served with mashed potatoes.

And as a bonus for US Soccer fans, we get the Yanks v. Colombia at 11:45 am on Friday from Craven Cottage in London. The USA will take on Ireland in Dublin on Tuesday the 18th also at 11:45 am.

Saturday the 15th - Caught in a Rip Current with Paul and Guy Great beer, great guys. This should be one epic tap takeover. Paul and Guy and the Rip Current crew will be joining us to enjoy their great beer including the 15.7% alcohol One 20th Anniversary IPA brewed for the pub. Here is what we are expecting so far: Marine Layer German Hefe, Barrier Reef Nut Brown, Lupulin Lust IPA (new batch), Vanilla Storm Coffee/Vanilla Imperial Porter, Kona Storm Coffee Imperial Porter, Rescue Buoy RIS, Barleywine (new beer for SDBW events), Aerial American Rye Brown (new beer).

Most beers will be on tap all day long, we may wait to tap a few beers until the Rip Current crew shows up so that they can be sure to enjoy them with us. Stay tuned for more details. Look for the Rip Current beers to be on tap all weekend.
It will be another spicy themed day from the kitchen with Jerk Chicken specials, Gumbo and Habanero Beer Cheese specials.

Sunday the 16th - THE Tomme Arthur Beer Dinner Ok, tickets are now on sale. Let the freakout begin. We have ended beer week with my good friend Tomme every time and it has never been anything less than jaw dropping. The theme this year is barrel aged and blended beers made for others including the new O’Brien’s 20th Anniversary barrel blend, Toronado’s Cable Car and Churchill’s Finest Hour. Cost is $120 with tax and tip inclusive (cash only please). Dinner will be at 6:30 pm and you must buy a seat in advance at the pub (no online sales). There are less than a dozen seats left as of Tuesday the 4th.

And there will be life after Beer Week. We have an extraordinary event with Firestone the first week of December - Deconstructed Anniversary Ale Night with kegs of the base barrel aged beers that go into the Anniversary beer. We'll be tapping a Nickel/Ballast Point collaboration Strong Saison - I got to taste it out of the fermentor today and it is tasting AMAZING. And of course we will get to tap lots of Belgian and domestic Christmas beers.

Well, that should be more than enough good beer news for you to digest. We'll see you soon to enjoy a fantastic San Diego Beer Week! I am thirsty and I am going to enjoy a bottle of Ballast Point Dorado from my soon to be less full six pack. Cheers, Tom
