I'm going to be in this area in April and was wondering if anyone could help me out with what places are good to buy beer at. I've read a little about Weber's Pub Package Store and Weber's Growler Factory but that's about it. BeerMenu's is no help either. I'm sure things are a little more expensive just because of the location but any help would be great.

You've got the basics already. Weber's is the best location, everything has island prices. There's a Mellow Mushroom with a decent tap list and a little coffee shop called Palm Coast that usually has 6-10 taps of craft. Other than that you'll find a local or two on but no serious beer destinations.

Thanks. Do they also sell good stuff in the supermarkets there? For some reason I remember supermarkets in the south selling much more beer/liquor than the supermarkets here in the Northeast........our beer/liquor sales are more from a package store.

Supermarkets will definitely have some craft available, though not as good of selection as Weber's. I don't think you can buy liquor in grocery stores. Weber's will have a huge selection of canned beer, as you might expect of an island liquor store. Supermarkets are going to have more common offerings like Sweetwater, Terrapin, Sierra Nevada, etc.

Thanks. I appreciate all the help! We have to fly into Jacksonville so I was trying to find a good place in between where I might be able to get some Westbrook or Cigar City but I couldn't find much. Seems like Weber might be the best option for me.

Weber typically has cases upon cases of Westbrook IPA, One Claw, and White Thai. They don't seem to ship as much Gose, but they do carry it when it's available. Cigar City will be easier to find in Jacksonville, where it's grocery store beer. It seems to come in waves in Georgia. You likely won't find Westbrook at a grocery store. Weber will likely also have bombers of whatever the more recent Westbrook seasonals are. Their bomber stock doesn't move as fast, so check dates.

Cigar City distro in GA is only the cans, and it's sketchy at best. Jai Alai is around once in a great while, Maduro, Florida Cracker, Invasion, and Hotter than Helles come in sometimes too. Westbrook Gose is out of season now, so anything you find will be old. IPA, One Claw, and White Thai are more prominent. Westbrook bombers are once in a while, and generally sell out fast. You might find some Dark Helmet around, and some old Marzenbier.

You happen to know Weber's prices compared to usual prices off the island? Is it like a 75-100% markup or jut a few dollars?

    Just a few dollars.
A $10 6-pack will be $12. It's not enough to warrant stocking up off the island, and you're not going to find a better selection in Brunswick or anywhere near the island anyway.

Awesome. Thanks again so much. At least if my golf game goes to crap while I'm down there I should have some good beer to drink!

I am currently in Sea Island. I would also recommend Ember. It's in the Retreat Village (near the private airport on St. Simons). They have great food and and bout 12-15 craft options on tap with a majority being Georgia beers. Currently a Creature Comforts Saison on tap.

Is that the shopping center where Winn Dixie is? I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the area.

I haven't been to Sea Island in a few years now but is that the private airport right next to the golf course?.....I don't remember a Winn Dixie but I also never went to the grocery store while I was there.

The airport is right by the Retreat Course.

If you remember the traffic circle right near Southern Soul, it's real close to that.

Their beer selection is probably the best I've seen on tap for a pint on the island. Stopped at Palm Coast for lunch and they had 9 beers on tap, all craft. Not a ton of Georgia beers though. They had Terrapin Golden Ale and Sweetwater Whiplash.
