'Search too short' workaound?

    It looks like 2/3 characters is considered too short.

    Problem is in the Trading forum, there are beer names that are shortened to 2 letters such as FO for Fundamental Observation.

    Is there an overlooked solution or a workaround? Thank you in advance.

    Not at the moment.

    Sidenote: Searching on "FO" is kind of ridiculous and reinforces the argument against abbreviations/acronyms.

    can the search function be improved to support Boolean search functions?

    Then a search could be used to hit both options:

    example: "FO" OR "Fundamental Observation"

    Bold string in the search box would find posts that include either of the two phrases in quotes and the full string would exceed the minimum character requirement.

    OR can also be replaced with NOT or AND to improve searches.

    indeed it may be ridiculous, but since there's no way to force people to spell out beer names, the current search functionality makes it exceptionally difficult to find beers that are commonly abbreviated to two letters.

    We've already established this, and that it's impossible.

    We currently have no plans to support two-letter searching.
