i found little more than six month old port high tide last nite at a jewish deli 5 minutes from home. was playing poker at a bar across the parking lot, had a 1/2 hour to kill before the tournament started. the aroma was not too good, but it was still pretty drinkable, and actually was pretty tasty, still had that beautiful huge fluffy head, though nothing like when its fresh.

this place is clueless though, standard craft and way overpriced, paid $9 for it, wtf, had to have one. had 4 bottles in the cooler, 2 on the shelf. and i called there like 2 months ago looking for high tide, stupid clerk said they didnt have it. my own fault for not going there in person.

drank the bomber in 20 minutes, got blasted, 4 hours later won the game. great night, but now i have to think what a waste of great beer, those remaining bottles are gonna sit there, until they go all the way bad. some unknowing may try it and not get the real high tide, the beer i consider one of the 2 best single ipas.

When it comes to Lagunitas Sucks, I always feel if it's your best beer, then it should be brewed year round. Lagunitas Sucks is their best beer.

Sculpin = year round = always awesome. Same with Elder. If they can do it, Lagunitas can do it.

Your obviously not accounting for the element of limited/rare that actually make beer good.

And by this logic KBS/CBS, Abyss, Nugget Nectar, Dark Lord, Hop Slam, Supplication, Parabola, King Henry... should all be brewed year round. But if they were, would they be as good?

I suppose it depends on where you buy it. If you buy it at Bevmo where it sits warm for months, you have a point. You have to find a place where it moves.

Be honest now. Wouldn't you grow tired of Celebration if somehow by elfin magic it was available year round? I know I would. Celebration sorta ushers in the Christmas season for me.
