Many of you responded to a previous thread I created about a trade I am involved - thank you. I am in need of more wisdom from the "seasoned traders". My trader sent me a tracking number on Saturday via UPS informing me "he dropped the package off this morning". That said, UPS shows that a label has been created, and that "Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

So that was Saturday, and today Tuesday nothing has been updated. Does this mean the sender hasn't sent or dropped off the package? I am trying to discern if the trader is telling the truth or just what. Let me know. This has been a discouraging experience.

Ill say it again.... my wisdom is to out the trader so others do not go through the same situation whether you get beer or not.

If you do not like the situation you are in ( you must not as this is your second thread on the subject ) do your part to help the community.

It likely means that nothing was dropped off, but stranger things have happened such as the package finally showing up as in-transit on the day it is to be delivered. However, if that is all the communication that you are getting from your trader, then concern is pretty warranted.

The printed label may have been been printed incorrectly and may not be able to scan. UPS employees are supposed to "key enter" these packages, but that doesn't always happen. Without a scan, there will be no updates for your package. I would follow up with the sender and see what is happening. If you don't feel you can trust this person, I would seek an alternative solution.

Did you mail the sender and ask what the situation might be? You might get a better answer from that person than from the community. If I was your trade partner and had a simple and reasonable explanation, I would be pretty pissed to see this post. If there is more history to this trade than I an aware of, please forgive my ignorance.

I think you're not getting any beer, and I'd like to know who (not) from.

looks like you've been jerked around enough. You should at least call him out or not, depending on how much you like to be jerked around.

I personally don't send a damned thing until, I have a tracking number in transit.

I'll post all the pics in the world, I'll make myself fully accessible, I'll tell you who I've traded with so you get a feel for me, I'm VERY open and communicative but, nothing goes in a box from me without a tracking number.

I sent a box out two weeks ago that went four days without an update on the Fed ex Web site. I was in daily communication with the person I was shipping to. That being said, I am a very paranoid shipper who worries until my trade partner says that all has arrived in good shape.
Just call the dude and ask what is going on. You do have his phone number I hope.

One package that I shipped FedEx recently did not have the tracking info update online until it was delivered. After calling their customer support, it was updating in their system. So call UPS and see if it's been scanned anywhere.

According to the last thread the guy told you he's ship the 20th. That clearly didn't happen. So he "dropped it off" Saturday but no update today?

Personally, I would out him. Look at the possibilities.
    A) You out him, he's actually a good trader, gets pissed that you made 2 threads and you never trade with each other again
    B) You out him, he's a bad trader, you never trade with each other again
    C) You don't out him, he's actually a good trader, gets pissed that you made 2 threads and you never trade with each other again
    D) You don't out him, he's a bad trader, you never trade with each other again and you wait to out him later after he may have already fucked over other BA's.

There's a common link here. You personally have nothing to lose.

What days does UPS pickup for home delivery? Do they even pickup on Saturday or Monday? I remember dropping off a box for a buddy on a Monday, Tuesday was a holiday, so then it didn't go out until Wednesday.

Could be the case where it was dropped off too late on Saturday and the pickup isn't until late Tuesday night, or it could be a case of you getting played around with again.

If UPS is the same as FedEx they pick up Tuesday-Saturday for home deliveries.

I know UPS doesn't regularly deliver on Saturdays for Home without a surcharge. I thought that they don't pickup on Mondays, but they deliver on Mondays (whereas FedEx does not).
