Trying to get a sense of what is fair. I'm looking for Zomer, Herfst, and Winter. I'm thinking that my Hommage should be able to trade 1:1 with Zomer - think that sounds about right? Is Fou close to Herfst? Needs a + on my end? Winter...no idea. Any ideas? 1:1 with Fou?
I think you'd need to add on any of those three scenarios. I don't see how Fou Foune would go 1:1 with any of the seasons. FF is produced every year in much larger quantities than the seasons were. The seasons were a one-time deal, they're already a few years old, and FF costs significantly less per bottle than the seasons.
for reference, I based my OP on a couple of posts by respected posters here - which had the seasons as fairly close to the high end loons. all of these were in "points" systems and all were on the same side of the FT or ISO so no bias there for instance this one from December: http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...k-lord-iso-list-of-sorts.234086/#post-3023617 Lente: 10 Zomer: 8 Herfst: 6 Winter: 5 Fou foune: 4 LP Kriek: 4 and this one http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ft-375ml-don-quijote-iso-points.203861/#post-2696147 3F Lente- 1.5 3F Zomer- 1.25 3F Herfst- .75 Recent Lou Pepe Geuze- .75pt Recent Lou Pepe Kriek- .75pt Saint Lam- .5pt and this one http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...-ft-add-up-to-100-points.184347/#post-2478085 Fou Foune - 80 points Vigneronne - 40 points 3F Armand4 Herfst - 75 points
This. Being an owner of both Zomer & Herfst, I was going to comment on your ISO but didn't want to thread shit. The bottles you're offering outside of Hommage are brewed yearly and the seasons were only made once with no plans, that I'm aware of, to be brewed again. Plus I'm sure a high percentage of people that have the seasons set still have access to over seas trade partners and can get Cantillon and 3F "relatively easily." It would take a lot for me to move mine as they're just going to get harder and harder to come by. Not sure if this helps or makes sense but good luck either way.
appreciate the response, but not sure if I understand the bolded. for the 3 people who posted those trades posts I linked - they were accurate for them, right? so someone said "I have a brandy dark lord for trade, I would either take x lente or y fou for it" - that's what he thought was fair. and I linked a couple other similar ones. now, I think what you're saying is that these guys were off in their requests, and that anyone with the seasons and the loons would have have preferred to give up the quantity of loons. the flip side of that coin is - these guys didn't! and it takes 2 to tango. if what you are saying is - "all 3 of these guys were way off" - then I think I would counter by saying that you should be able to find a lot more trade requests with the bottles in question to reflect that. but I don't seem to see those, you know? and I looked.
another example of a recent ISO http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...-multiple-dbs-iso-points.213709/#post-2803630 11- Armand'4 Lente 11- Armand'4 Zomer 11- Hommage 8- Fou'Foune so this guy is saying "I would take either 2 Lente or 3 Fou" (essentially). I guess I'm not understanding why that is different from me posting the Fou for a similar offer
that list in particular is wayyyyyyy off IMO. Like not even in the same universe on some. For all we know he traded a mexican cake set for 8x Bruery sours.
