Absolutely. Surprised we haven't run into each other at Holy Mountain. We go pretty much weekly.

And I gotta agree, Terry plays a great host. We always have fun on our trips to Bellingham.

I wasn't able to make it but have to say it's super cool of the Toronado to allow such a gathering.

bummed i missed it but happy to hear it went well. something we should try to do more often...whether it is a rare bottle share or just meeting for a beer at a brewery it would be fun to get together on a quarterly basis or something...

I am guessing we have been going at different times...we go pretty much every other week or so. generally either for HH on Friday or lunch or HH on Saturday. We frequent Holy Mountain and the Masonry more than anywhere else...

I am going to try to make more frequent trips to BHam, definitely a great time and not a bad drive up and back...and Terry seems to know everyone so it is fun to be with a local celebrity

So, to the best of my recollection, this is my list from yesterday. And, there was much I missed.

Barrel Roll #5 by Hangar 24, Darkest Hour by Anchorage, Cellar Cuvee #10 by Jackie O's, Lunker by Steel Toe, Pentagram by Surly, Grey Monday by The Bruery, Seviin by Surly, Cellarman batch 3 by Sante Adarius, Raspberry Lambic 2013 by Upland, Quel Que Chose 2010 by Unibroue, Bourbon Barrel Black Maple by Jackie O's, The Duo by de Garde, Extremely Angry Beast by Clown Shoes, Apricot au Poivre Saison by Nebraska Brewing, Cable Car by Lost Abbey, Jaunt by O'Dell, Hunahpu's by Cigar City, Black Ops by Brooklyn, Black Gold by Central Waters, Home Sour Home by Rare Barrel, Oude Tart 2013 by The Bruery, Black Tuesday by The Bruery, Rochefort 8, Eclipse by Fifty Fifty, Funky South Paw by Jackie O's, Arthur by Hill Farmstead, Lunker 2014 by Steel Toe, Special Rouge by de Garde, and Another World by Rare Barrel. Plus, a pint of Hop Venom as a palate refresher.

We were going to swing by @BobsLiquors on the way home to grab a couple bottles, but the plan got changed, and we went to Holy Mountain. I had the Mosaic pale and the Blackberry Table beer, and grabbed a mini-growler (which is all they sell? Weird) of the Wit, and some how it had evaporated by the time we got got back to Hamsterham. I'll try to hit Bobs next time down, I sat next to them for awhile and they very nice and friendly folks. Everyone was actually pretty nice, except for one knucklehead from the northern colonies.

Again, big thanks to @ToronadoSeattle for hosting, to @Anaxagoris for keeping things moving, to our bartender Ian, who handled us great, while still taking care of his normal customers (I hope y'all threw down some nice tips), and the kitchen staff for sending out some tasty chow. Looking forward to next time!

I would like to thank Matt, Ian(?) and the rest of the crew at Toronado for hosting this wonderful event, and Terry from Bellingham for organizing the tasting. It was the most epic beer tasting I have been to, bar (hehe) none.

On a related note, I am quite keen on having something on Terry's turf up in Bellingham sometime during the mid-August to mid-September timeframe. Would others be interested in this? I have been dying to go up there and check out the beer scene, and this would be the perfect excuse.

    Cheers,
    Dave (PacNWDad)

PS - The bottle of Cantillon LP Kriek will be in attendance for the next one.

Be happy to show you around any time. That said, I am hosting a bottle share in early November that everyone is invited to, tentative date of Saturday Nov 7. That will leave Sunday as your drive home day, if anyone is coming up. I'll post a thread closer to then.

If we do something before, a few caveats; there are several big events in Bham in that time frame, and they generally mean I'm working weekends. Plus, they tend to tie up hotel/motels (although, there are several new one open or soon to open). Would folks be interested in a share, or perhaps a B'ham brewery/pub crawl? I'll ask a couple places and see what various venues think about potentially hosting.

That sounds like a lot of fun, both to a sooner bottle share/crawl in August to Terry's birthday bottle share extravaganza (thoughts on the name?! :stuck_out_tongue:)

Also, Terry - I would love to help you organize, as the bham beer scene is freaking rad. Maybe E Station would like to host something?

Last, Dave and me were talking to Matt over at Chuck's Greenwood yesterday. We're going to shoot them an email about possibly hosting a bottle share event there sometime in August/September (Last weekend in August/first weekend in September?)

That'd be fine with me. Elizabeth Station doesn't really have room any a gathering of any size. A friend of mine had a birthday get together for his girlfriend there a couple months ago, and 12-15 of us filled that back to beyond a comfortable level. Plus, their policy is once a bottle is open, their employee still has to pour. Plus, they have a 3 drink max for customers. There are a couple other spaces I'm going to look at and see if their viable.

I'm certainly down with another one in Seattle too. Y'all find a spot,a nd pending my schedule, I'll head down.

BTW, anybody get pics to post?

I got the pictures - just haven't quite had time to upload them yet. Hopefully sometime this evening I'll be able to

If we start nailing down some dates, that'll give people a better idea of when things can happen. (If only there were a polling feature). What maybe we should do is start a Google doc with some tentative dates for each thing, see whose interested.
