Hello - Just moved to Seattle from North Carolina. I loved the barrel aged sour beers from Wicked Weed in North Carolina. Also, I've been to Cascade in Portland and loved their barrel aged beers. Does anyone know if there are any breweries in Seattle that specialize in barrel aged sours? Thanks

Holy Mountain makes them from time to time. Clarette, Phosphene, Empirium, Barrel #7, Grapefruit Table, Cascade Table, etc. None are currently available however.

Get to know your neighbors in Oregon! Cascade, de Garde, Ale Apothecary, and
Logsdon. Even Mazama, Breakside, and others make forays into sours more frequently than WA; even better they start at around $5 for a 22oz.

They are around, but, like so many NW beers, they often don't leave the brewery. A lot of our smaller breweries have enough flexibility to do small-batch stuff, but then they generally just sell it draft from their tap room. As an example, Anacortes Brewing. They don't package anything, and generally have some sort of wild/sour thing on tap.

Urban Family has done some tasty oak aged sours from time to time. Their bottles are usually a little pricy, and their taproom currently only has a couple taps (4?), so its hit and miss on the barrel aged stuff, but its worth it if they have it on tap.

Good call on E9. Last time I was down there they had a new cooler by the front door full of bottles, and their bottles are also hitting distribution in Seattle now!

yup, their bottles-to-go list is fairly extensive right now, and i've seen them at chucks, too (both locations).
