Aside from some local breweries I'd like to visit next weekend, I'd also like to stop into some beer bars. Can anyone recommend must-see locations that might highlight a lot of local beers? As an aside, I'd rather not drink beers at a place where you are packed in like sardines. Beer Junction looks cool...

Yeah, The Beer Junction is a cool place with a good tap list and an awesome bottle shop. Also check out Beveridge Place which is nearby. BP is more roomy if you don't like tight quarters.

Collins Pub. Was there a few days ago for the first time in a couple years, and was immediately reminded what a fool I am. Great tap list, nice staff, great menu. Same day, I hit Beveridge Place Pub for the first time. I am a fool for never having been there before. Somewhat grudgingly, I agree with Brouwers. Great beers, great room, great food, but you are definitely gambling on service. Some of the worst bartenders on this planet. I suggest taking a table, because every server I've had has been top shelf. Lastly, Naked City. Yes, they're a brewpub, but they also have lots of guest taps. But, with the quality of their house brews, you'll probably skip on past the visitors. Enjoy your visit!

Loved The Wurst Place when I visited there. If you are lucky they will have Boneyard on tap.

For a local, I would have to say Beverage Place, Beer Junction and Chuck's are "can't miss" places but as a visitor with limited time and probably wanting to see some sights as well I would say,

Brouwers (Fremont - Center of the Universe)
Pine Box (Capitol Hill - good people watching)
    Collins Pubs - (Pioneer Square/Stadiums/Downtown)
Wurst Place - (South Lake Union, water, boats, etc.)

These four will give you a good tates of Seattle. I have really been enjoying Wurst place. Awesome place with tap list, brats, fries and tots. What else do you need?

Beverage Place, Beer Junction and Chucks are a little farther out in neighborhoods. Although the new 2nd Chucks is more central. Just doesn't have the same feel as the original.

See, to me, I think the Wurst Place is a spot you're glad to have as a local but I'd never consider it a beer destination for out of towners.

I'd agree on Pine Box and Brouwers. But I'd say walking from Brouwers to The Sixgill, since it takes 4 minutes, is a no brainer. Food is better, it's an airier / less beer geek intense atmosphere, and the taps speak for themselves:

I'd say Chucks is great even as a tourist to see a casual local vibe - the food truck, dogs and kids, giant bottleshop with 40 taps in a convenience store thing.

Can I hijack my own thread and ask about bottle shops near Belltown/Pike Market?

Pear Market right by Pike Place. The downtown Whole Foods. Downtown Liquor.

    Apologies for thread-hijacking:

Been about 5 years since I have drank anywhere in Seattle besides actual breweries, but I used to hit Uber and Duck Island when on my way to visit my brother's then-home in Mt. Vernon. Are those places no longer "cool" for beer geeks? Or are they just no longer the "flavor of the month (or, maybe, year?)?" Just curious.

    Uber is still very cool.

Uber is probably my favorite beer bar in the city.

Heading to Seattle next week for a couple days before an Alaska cruise so let me thank you all for some tips.

Does anyone know for sure if The Stumbling Monk is still open? Looked it up on Tripadvisor last night and they have it listed as "CLOSED" (none of the other sites have it listed as such). The Stumbling Monk doesn't have a website that I can find. Tried calling last night after their posted opening time (3 hour time difference accounted for) and there was no answer.
