Seattle Beer Week looms near. What events are on everyone's radar? A friend and I are discussing hitting up Iron Brewer at BPP.

I'd love to hit up Iron Brewer again, but it's on Mother's Day. Always been a lot of fun in the past.

I will definitely be doing Firkin Firkin, WA-OR-CA showdown, Saison Fest and Tour de Pints.

They should totally reschedule SBW to fall on Father's Day. For me that would convert the event from a liability into an asset. Because Mom Matters.

We've already got the WA Brewer's Festival for Father's Day. And I can bring my kid. Win-win.

Yeah, I'm finding as my daughter gets older that on family-type days (I hesitate to use the word "holiday" for Mother's and Father's Days), if it's a choice between doing a more beer-centric/less family-oriented activity or a less beer-centric/more family-oriented activity with my family, I tend to choose the latter. But at least on Father's Day weekend I'm sanctioned to do more or less whatever the hell I want, so something like going to the Brewer's Festival for a little while is still on the table. On Mother's Day weekend, the arrangement is we do whatever the hell my wife wants (and rightfully so), so that kind of precludes a beer event like SBW.

I will be coming up the 16th-18th, which sucks because I have to miss sour fest this year. But I am planning on hitting up the Pfriem Night on the 16th and the Rubens IPA release on the 17th.

Will be there the same time as checktherhyme, sad that I'll be missing sour fest but I will head to Brouwer's to see what's left over.

It's clearly a reference to the early '90s hip-hop one-hit wonder, "Down Wit' BPP"...

Okay - i think you are asking how much of a hassle it would be to get from there to BPP...it isnt that bad - maybe 20 minutes. Just down 15th to Alaskan way onto 99 S then onto the WS bridge. If it were a weekday I would say that would be miserable but since it is on Sunday it should be fine. Only thing to watch out for is going when Mariners traffic (if it is a nice day) is thick because that drive will go right through it.

My poor old fat fingers can't keep up sometimes. I meant " get to BPP". BPP is Beveridge Place Pub.

I've been looking at Metro, and there is a direct bus from there to BPP. But, I'm not sure I'm going to that event or maybe the M's game (this morning, I'm leaning M's), and from Safeco, Metro has me taking light rail, to a bus, that takes longer, and costs more, than the bus from Interbay.

1 bus. Straight shot. Get on the Rapid Ride D Line, which stops right at interbay. Take it all the way to Fauntleroy in West Seattle, which is literally 100ft from BPPs front door. $2.50. Too easy. The D line turns into the C line when you get to downtown, but you dont have to change buses.

Oh, from Safeco.. That may involve a little more walking, but you can walk downtown from Safeco and get on the C line and take it straight to BPP.

Anyone else planning to be at the Malt & Vine tomorrow for the Firestone Walker event? I will be there and would love to meet some other BA folks.
