No Urban Family for me tonight. Wife has a girl's night and I'm home with the kiddo. I'll drink a 2010 Rose de Gambrinus instead.

Hitting up Saison Fest and Fremont shenanigans on Saturday, and definitely stopping in for Firkin Firkin next Thursday.

lol @ urban family line. walked by a little after 5 (nearby resident so wanted to see what would happen) and there was at least 20 people in line with indoors at capacity. Fecking noobs.

Re: Urban Family- $9/6 oz. + tax, no LP Fram, despite what was advertised in advance for SBW. Yes, I know it was on FB prior to the event, but it caught us by surprise. No explanation given other than "there is a lot of other great stuff on tap" when asked where the LP Fram was.

The event across the street at the Noble Fir with Black Raven was great.

You're the second person I've heard/talked to tonight that let a lack of LP fram ruin the event.. A bummer, I agree, but Urban Family did it perfectly it think. Golden Doesjel was pure gold. Its a good thing the LP framboise bottles made a wave around town a couple weeks ago!

I can't imagine the lack of LP Framboise would bum me out based on what else they had available.

Just referencing the fact that we were excited for it and surprised it wasn't on tap. And yeah, it was a bummer having not had it in the past. Yes, the other taps were just fine, albeit pricey.

I've got a bottle of LP Framboise that I've been sitting on in the garage for 1.5 years now. If you really want to try it, I'll let you know whenever I get around to drinking it and have you over.

If I complain about the lack of LP Framboise, can I come too?

I actually saw your comment as more a "comment" than a complaint. Hell, I thought there was some nice positive local vibes for Black Raven in there.

But I'm an opportunist and I had to try and seize the Lou Pepe. Carpe Lou Pepe as the Greek beer geeks say.

(Yes, I know it's Latin - but Greek rhymed and I sacrifice accuracy for euphony.)

Ugh, Fou Foune gave me such a stiffy. Golden Doesjel was pure sweaty armpit, which is pretty much exactly what I want from an unblended lambic, and Hommage was pretty tasty. Glad I went, and lucked out to get in with the first group after showing up around 4:30.

I enjoyed Golden Doesjel, but thought it was just a tad bit tannic. Fou' was good, not great. Last year's was much, much better. It appears the rumors of a weak apricot harvest are true. Hommage was fantastic.

The service was slow. The bartending was subpar, especially how they were pouring the bottles. I watched in horror as one of the bartenders emptied the last drop of one of the bottles into a glass, sediment and all.

I do give Urban credit, though. I went into the event expecting it to be a complete clusterfuck. It wasn't. Props to them for that.

This is a textbook worthy illustration of the idiom "damning with faint priase." Kudos!

I wouldn't be surprised to see the LP Framboise make an appearance at the Sour Fest at Brouwer's next week.
